Rounding up our 3 days’ DANCE AUDITION WORKSHOP The dancefloor as a space of freedom, collectivity and exchange. Belgian choreographer @lauraneyskens and dramaturge @raphaelvandeweyer brought together a group of dancers from Mumbai around the question of what emerges when deep-rooted movement traditions meet contemporary popular culture. In a world where a single swipe can transmit a style, a move, a whole tradition some questions don’t have easy answers. Three days of workshop, a lot of dancing, and some genuinely unexpected discoveries. We are grateful to @lauraneyskens @raphaelvandeweyer @maghenta.official for bringing us on this project. Early mornings, late nights, constant coordination, and the people working quietly behind the scenes to make sure everything runs exactly as it should. Here’s a glimpse of the work that happens off stage: When audiences attend a performance, they see the final result: the artist, the setup, the movement, the emotion. But a single performance can involve weeks or months of preparation: technical rehearsals, stage builds, equipment logistics, coordination with venues, and careful synchronization between artistic and production teams. The success of a performance is rarely the work of one individual. It is the result of collaboration, discipline, and a deep respect for every role involved in bringing the production to life. Absolutely grateful and fortunate to experience another side of New Zealand than just Auckland. Definitely one of the most chill 36 hrs I have had in close to a year and glad to have conference buddy @shrey26_ with me. Thank you @ged_paul for the incredible dinner, catching all that fish, showing us your beautiful home & venue and taking us on a tiki tour of The Bay of Islands.
