ok so like every design professional my algorithm has been inundated by beautiful images of
@shopquarters . I NEEDED to find out who the masterminds behind this space were... ENTER Nick + Felicia best friends who met at RISD, became co-Founders of
@incommonwith and now
@shopquarters (as if one design darling brand wasn't enough some of us cant even build one brand!)
heres what i have to say about them -- they are the kind of artists who will never cut corners. they pride themselves in creating truly one of one spaces and when you enter one of their projects you really feel transported into their world. if i had the budget id hire them to design my hotel tomorrow. thank you both for indulging me and sharing your secrets on this series!!!
Nick + Felicia's cheat sheet:
1. White paint - hate it! instead they mix custom paints at
@janovic_nyc #
2. Moody paint - sorry guys I tried to get you that Quarters paint spec but alas another CUSTOM shade made by
@janovic_nyc DROP THE PAINT LINE ALREADY GUYS
3. Painter -
@jjsnyderstudio
4. Stone yard -
@basstonenyc - also recommended by
@bond_nyc and countless others!
5. Rosso Levanto strikes again. this has been a Rolodex favorite across the coasts.
6. Carpenter - *crickets* none!
7.
@shanegabier - his ceramic pieces are influenced by modernist design and 70’s psychedelia
8. Jesse at
@sacks_and_co - HIGH praise for him
9. Custom upholstery / drapery -
@trystitchroom HUGE SHOUTOUT FOR STITCH ROOM
10. Controversial take - wall to wall carpet (I cosign!), carpet on the ceiling, pink toilets, mixed woods, red lighting - they’re all a yes for Nick.
11. Dream project - a hotel project where they design any and every detail - EXIT SIGNS INCLUDED
