CALL FOR COLLABORATION Movement artist @mamicca submerges us in the euphoric nature of Jamaica Bay, NYC. Filmed on the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera by @eyephoneonly during a scout across from JFK Airport. m i c c a  tests movement; exploring water, wind, and light with silk in Idlewild Experiment. WATCH NOW on the @_amplium app for Apple Vision Pro. - - WHAT ARE WE MAKING NEXT? Idlewild Experiment is a preview of a longer form adaptation of @__d_i_r_t__ . Originally performed live in 2021 - 2023, d i r t reflects on the power of the tides.  It is a surrender to nature within an industrial hub embracing cycles and joy in mortality. SAY HI We are seeking collaborators to help spatialize the score, perform an advanced color grade and provide physical production support in New York City. If interested please send me a DM and let’s create something special together.

Got bogged down this week… Did you know cranberries float because there’s 4 air chambers inside? This makes for quite a photogenic harvest❣️ Major props to @xan_black_art for wading through the water with me & much gratitude to all the generous growers who welcomed us to their farms like family.

Today we launched @primary.news.in.depth This project grew out of a simple but increasingly rare idea: trust in journalism comes from being there. Primary works directly with reporters on the ground and presents their footage unaltered. Spatial video shot on iPhone offers a sense of scale, proximity, and presence that allows you to witness events as they unfold in ways traditional formats can’t replicate. I especially want to thank my partner in this endeavor, Maura Axelrod, our Editor in Chief. Primary would not exist without her initiation, deep journalistic experience, and clear-eyed leadership. We’re proud of the team, grateful to the reporters who trusted us with their work over the past year, and excited to expand these collaborations as new stories unfold. Grab an Apple Vision Pro and download at the link in my bio.

To explore the preciousness and impermanence of the body. To embrace a love of no nos, permission, and play. photos from our immersive (VR) filming last week with @eyephoneonly @pixiedeville and Dane. Sat down with @sandwichvideo to talk cranberry bogs, camera bags, why journalism lacks depth, and what we’re going to do about it at Primary: News in Depth. Catch our conversation at the link in my bio. Thanks again to Jose, Adam & the team for giving immersive filmmakers a platform to shine ✨ 📸 @greenpointglam

I’ve wanted to visit a cranberry bog for years. With the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive, I take you there. Harvest in the Bogs is now live on Theater for Apple Vision Pro. Link in bio. One of three fruits native to North America, cranberry harvesting is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Look closely…especially for the spiders. Let it linger. No headset? Say hey for a demo in NYC. Happy Earth Day 🌎

Seeking guest lecturers working with new media technologies for an NYU Tisch graduate course this summer. If you’re working with immersive media, AI production, spatial computing, digital twins, virtual production, real-time collaborative workflows, next-generation distribution platforms or adjacent areas, this is an opportunity to share your work with students stepping into the field. Last year, guest speakers joined from around the world, working at the intersection of immersive storytelling, AI-driven workflows, 4D Gaussian splatting and emerging production pipelines - making it one of the most valuable parts of the course. The goal is to give students a clear, practical window into how these tools are actually being used: what’s working, what’s not, and where things are headed. Sessions are remote, conversational and designed to be accessible. A stipend is provided. This will be my second time teaching New Technologies in Media Production in NYU’s master’s program, where we explore how emerging tools are reshaping filmmaking. It’s been incredibly rewarding working with students as they enter into this evolving landscape. If you’re interested, or if someone comes to mind, feel free to comment, tag them, or reach out directly. Looking forward to another great summer of conversations.

Brought @primary.news.in.depth to 30 Rock for a little show and tell today. Disabling the Apple Vision Pro passcode & skipping the hand/eye calibration was key to getting the goggles on everyone quickly.

Critical learning from this one: electric compressed air duster. Kept lenses clear on the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive and Canon R5C (dual fisheye 3D VR) between takes. Small, USB-C rechargeable, and saves money by replacing disposable canned air. Essential during our 2-person immersive camera helicopter coverage, where desert dust and debris were constant & downtime can stack up fast. Props to @t_dagger_ for keeping us squeaky clean, up and running.
