How much I spent over 8 days roadtripping Iceland’s Ring Road! Iceland is notoriously expensive but renting a van was not only much cheaper than a hotel and rental car but so much easier because you’re changing locations each night. Overall, for a trip where we cooked most of our meals and only did outdoor activities, I’d say it was pretty pricey. What do you think? Let me know in the comments! → → . . . #iceland #tripcost #budgettravel #budgettrip #roadtrip #vanlife #travel #outdoors #adventure #traveltips

Total cost of our three-night hut-to-hut trek in the Dolomites! To make this even cheaper, pack granola bars, take a bus instead of renting a car, and don’t reward yourself with as many Dolomiti pilsners at the end of the day. . . . #dolomites #italy #travel #trekking #hiking #huttohut #rifugios

Italian Dolomites Hut-to-Hut Trek: Day 3! Today’s hike took us on Alta Via 1 from Refugio Coldai to Refugio Vazzoler for some of the best food of our four-day trek. . . . #dolomites #trekking #altavia1 #italy #dolomiti #montepelmo #passogiau #cittadefiume #huttohuttrek #travel #travelinspo #bucketlist #hiking

The fog was so dense on day 1 skiing in Kitzbühel that I actually got a bit of vertigo going down the mountain and had to go in early. Transition to day 2 and turns out we were skiing in paradise. #kitzski #skiing #europeskiing #austriaskiing #wintertravel

I spent 3 weeks in Cape Town and then almost left without seeing the majority of it. Over 60% of Capetonians live in townships, which are settlements that people of color were forcibly moved to during apartheid. While apartheid ended 30 years ago, funding to these areas is still drastically low and little has been done to help uplift these residents out of poverty. But with all of the warning signs about safety issues in townships, I wasn’t sure if or how I wanted to visit. I came across @abcdconcepts , a local tourism company founded by residents of Khayelitsha - the largest township in Cape Town - and we went on a walking tour through his hometown. We visited his primary school, walked through the neighborhood, mall, and train station, and even visited the house he grew up in and he shared his experience. While the history and current state of Cape Town is still extremely complex, this tour helped give me perspective and see the life behind all of the warning signs about townships. If you visit Cape Town, be sure to explore beyond the beautiful beaches and vibey cafes to understand how locals actually live - but do so with a local guide like Buntu. . . . #capetown #southafrica #responsibletravel #solofemaletravel #traveldeeper

I’m baaaaaack 🙈 I had a bit of a crazy few months - new countries, lost luggage, 14 different beds, and one new NYC apartment later and I finally have a second to talk about it. Starting with a little more Cape Town, then Austria, and soon Spain and Slovenia. Oh, and I completely forgot to mention a trip to Austin in the middle of all of this. Buckle up 🫶 . . . #solofemaletravel #solotravel #adventuretravel #travelinmy30s #digitalnomad

How I save everything to Google Maps! Once you organize them into individual lists like this it makes it sooo much easier to find a restaurant on the go. Instead of opening up each spot to see what type of cuisine it is, you can just look at the emoji! . . . #googlemaps #travelhack #travel

My honest thoughts on Cape Town...I really wanted to love it here, but ultimately I didn’t. This city is still heavily impacted by apartheid with a deep rooted racial imbalance that’s evident throughout the city. As a tourist, you can largely avoid recognizing the discrepancy but that doesn’t mean that we should. While I did visit the townships to get a better glimpse of what life is really like for so many Cape Town residents, most of my trip was spent in what felt like a resort - a perfectly curated area where everyone is trying their best not to look outside of the resort grounds to face what’s really going on in the city. . . . #capetown #solotravel #southafrica #solofemaletraveler #visitcapetown
