Want to explore the coast this weekend? This 3.3 mile (5.4 km) linear walk from Littlestone to Dymchurch follows the King Charles III England Coast Path, combining big coastal views with a rich sense of local history. Starting along Littlestone’s quiet seafront, the route opens out to wide skies and long stretches of beach, offering a calm and spacious feel that contrasts with busier seaside spots. As you continue east, the walk takes you through St Mary’s Bay, where sandy shores and traditional seaside touches create a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere. You may spot the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway running nearby, adding to the character of the route. History is woven throughout the landscape, from offshore remains linked to the Second World War to Martello Towers near Dymchurch that once played a key role in coastal defence. The route finishes in Dymchurch, where you can enjoy the beach, explore the village, or simply take a moment to appreciate this stretch of Kent’s coastline. Spring is a beautiful time to enjoy our Pluckley Walk 🌼 This gentle circular route winds through one of Kent’s most picturesque villages, where rolling fields burst into colour with golden oilseed rape, orchards begin to bloom and the countryside feels full of new life. It is easy walking, peaceful and perfect for soaking up the sights and scents of the season. Pluckley is closely linked with H. E. Bates, who lived nearby and drew inspiration from this very landscape when creating The Darling Buds of May. Today, the walk still takes you through classic Kent scenery of orchards, hop gardens and quiet lanes that feel lifted straight from his stories. As you explore, you will pass places connected to the filming of the much‑loved TV series, alongside wide‑open views across the Low Weald that really shine in spring sunshine. It is a lovely way to slow down, get some fresh air and enjoy a softer, colourful side of the Kent countryside. Discover the Pluckley Walk here 📍/activities/pluckley-walk/?utm_source=socialmedia&utm_medium=walkoftheweek&utm_term=spring Have you spotted the bright yellow fields on your walks yet?

Want to explore the coast this weekend? This 4.7 mile (7.5 km) circular walk from St Margaret’s Bay follows sections of the King Charles III England Coast Path, combining open coastal scenery with quieter stretches inland and layers of history along the way. The route passes South Foreland Lighthouse, now cared for by the National Trust, and other reminders of the area’s role in guarding a busy stretch of water. Sea views shape much of the walk and give a strong sense of Kent’s eastern edge. The terrain includes a mix of surfaces, with steps and slopes in places that add to the character of the route but may not suit everyone, so it is worth checking the route details before heading out. Back in the bay, the Coastguard pub is a popular place to pause at the end of the walk and is often said to be the nearest pub to France. Plan your walk and explore the route here 📍 /activities/st-margarets-bay-walk-guarding-gateway/

Explore the quiet beauty of the High Weald on the Scotney Castle Circle, a 4 mile (6.4 km) circular walk starting near the Scotney Castle Estate. This gentle route offers a blend of history and countryside, with views across rolling fields and glimpses of the distinctive moated castle set below the path. The walk takes you through peaceful woodland and open farmland, with hop gardens and estate scenery that change with the seasons. It is especially scenic in spring, when colours and wildlife bring the landscape to life. The route includes 9 gates, 4 stiles and 1 gap, with a mix of woodland tracks and field paths along the way. These features give the route its rural character but may be more challenging for some users, so it is worth checking the route information before setting out.
