Here’s a little vans-eye view of our tour which wrapped last week. We had a beautiful time and played pretty much an entirely new set using a whole load of new ideas and techniques which we got the measure of every night. We’re now going to take all this work into the rehearsal room and carry on figuring out what it wants to be. A massive thank you to all the audiences who showed up and all the promoters and venues who put us on and looked after us: we never take any of this for granted and feel really fortunate that we can get out there and find people listening. To the people who travelled for hours to catch us - sometimes between countries - we express our deep gratitude 🙏 This was our first tour together lasting longer than 3-4 days and we were in the praccy room pretty much every other day for 6 weeks beforehand, so we’ve covered a hell of a lot of ground musically and physically (3000 miles of road ably traversed by the wonderful Lynny) Lastly, thanks to our main man Arthur at Earth Agency for putting the tour together for us . Tonight, @silent.green presents Liverpool’s guitar innovators Ex-Easter Island Head. After their exceptional Berlin debut at the Kiezsalon in 2017, we look forward to seeing them once again. Ex-Easter Island Head are an experimental musical collective composing and performing music for solid body electric guitar, percussion and other instruments. Their 2024 album ‘Norther’ was named “album of the year” by The Quietus, further remarking “from astute use of simple ideas multiplied comes music with acute beauty.” They play alongside Berlin-based duo Sun Kit, made up of Jules Reidy and Andreas Dzialocha. The group plays multiple electric guitars augmented through mechanical preparations and extended techniques, creating hypnotic performances rich in repetition, shimmering drones and melodic invention through purposefully limited means. Their records and live performances have received significant critical acclaim from the likes of The Wire, the Quietus and the New York Times. Favourably compared to the likes of Steve Reich, Glenn Branca and John Cage, the groups' music has been praised for its mixture of percussive drive, emotional warmth and playful experimentation.

Beams, cranes and wires. We’re going to be exploring some really weird, beautiful, occasionally ugly new sounds on our upcoming tour; absolutely cramming the sessions in as the ideas just keep making themselves known. We’ve been writing new material for over a year in stops and starts but the last month has been an insanely busy and productive one - we really can’t wait for you to hear this stuff. Tour kicks off in just over a week on Saturday 25th @fullof.noises (tickets fully sold out) before headlining @strange_brew_briz as part of the incredible @bristolnewmusic on Sunday 26th. Monday 27th we’re @iklectikartlab courtesy of @babayagashutlondon with support from @run_band_insta then it’s over the channel to @muziekgebouw Amsterdam on Tuesday 28th with @sunkitband sharing the bill. They’ll join us the following night @silent.green Berlin before we make our Prague debut @krajinou_prilivu on 30th with support from @aidanbakermusic @t.wyskida ….then we’ll be in Austria for the first time @donaufestival on 1st May. @palacestgallen is our first time in Switzerland for a very long time and the last date of the tour - @ale_hophop opens the show.
