One of my greatest achievements of this Wastelsnd Weekend was winning the endorsement of @ex.corpse for my mayoral bid.
Way back in my first Wasteland (2022) I remember stumbling into the Forelorn Hope late one night and seeing a guy dancing with a tasty looking Pacifico. When I inquired where I could procure one he told me to go to Excorpse and ask for one, adding to mention that “Daddy sent yeah!”.
I ventured to Excorpse and was able to procure that Pacifico! “If Daddy says you get a beer you get a beer!”
I was so touched by the hospitality that the following year I left a six pack of my favorite Finnish Long Drink and a short but sweet letter of thanks with Excorpse.
This year while looking for mayoral endorsements the thought popped into my head to try and shoot for Excorpse. My expectations for receiving said endorsement were low (figured another candidate would’ve reached out already) however as with most things in life you never really know unless you ask so I did…
And the response I got from Daddy was most warming, not only did I get the endorsement but he even kept and cherished my letter 🥲
As you all know Clam Cult didn’t win…
but we did win something arguably more important: a solid alliance and quality friends to boot!
I thank Excorpse and I thank Daddy (@aj_strout )for their support and kindness during this whole thing. I’ll cherish all the hang time we’ve had and I’ll cherish the conversations we’ve had, free of judgement and devoid of bad faith arguments. There I truly felt like an equal and never an outsider.
It was a family within a family, and it was quite lovely.
I highly recommend visiting for future events to come.
