We finally got round to putting some footage together of our first party in over 5 years — and we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came. Refreshing to see so many friends and our old regulars out in the city once again! Shouts to our residents Lopaski and Craven, who expertly opened and closed, and of course to our headliner KRN ( @mdc__berlin ) As always, KRN didn’t disappoint — delivering that trademark deepness and energy. Big thanks to @club.colette too. It was our first event in the space and we loved the layered dance floor, the bar, the outdoor area, and the intimate vibe that fits us perfectly. This was perfect way to kick off this next chapter and we’re already working on more dates for the year — so if you missed this one, definitely make the effort for the next. Resident Spotlight: Tom Craven Tom first moved to Birmingham at the tail end of the noughties to be part of the legendary Below crew, after meeting Adam Shelton and Lee McDonald while working in Ibiza. He quickly made a name for himself as a staple at Below and many of the city’s most respected parties that followed – including Face, Rhythm Factory, @socialundergroundbhm , and @cloakndagger_ After Below came to an end, Tom teamed up with @patrick.lopaski and @unai_trotti to launch Evolve – born from a shared desire to bring DJs to Birmingham they all loved, but who never played in the city. There wasn’t much of a plan – just book quality guests and either warm up or close the night themselves. The concept hasn’t changed much since, but that same dedication to music, bookings, and vibe remains. Tom hasn’t played in Brum for a good few years now, having moved back to Manchester where he runs his @basementwaxmcr record store and party series. So we’re buzzing to welcome him back to his second home and show everyone what they’ve been missing! A resident at @club.colette , Patrick opened for Tristan Da Cunha recently, which was a night that truly put the club on the map. With a recent release on @subb_an @onerecords_label , his Club Colette residency, and the relaunch of Evolve after a few years’ hiatus, Patrick and Evolve are ready to remind Birmingham exactly what it’s been missing. In 1 months time we welcome back a previous guest who absolutely destroyed our 3rd Birthday back in 2019, he was our secret weapon on the day, the one and only KRN. Since he last played with us in Birmingham he’s been a regular at @dimensionsfestival and The Ghost Parties in Berlin along with serving up some sublime mixes for @resident_advisor , Dimensions & @marginal_returns . It’s been 10 years since we threw our first party in Digbeth in the Blackbox with our last party being held in 2019. We have debated a return for a while now, but the small club spaces the city was offering just didn’t seem to feel right to us, until now. When deciding who our first guest to invite would be, it was a no-brainer for us. Top of the list was a previous guest and a firm favourite of ours, KRN. Phil, aka KRN, played for our 3rd Birthday with The Ghost, and those of you who were there will understand why we are inviting him back as he absolutely destroyed the place. Our next party will be Saturday 5th July at Club Collette, 11pm-4am. We’ve had so many great messages sent to us since saying we were going to throw some more raves again and that has really inspired us and will help us Evolve for this next chapter.
