Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is for her, who sat in the living room of her grandmother’s house while her mother read every lyric to Speak Now to make sure it was an appropriate album for a seven year old to listen to. It’s for the girl who then proceeded to learn every word to every song and dance around in her room, dreaming of dragons and enchanting first meetings. Her favorite song was “Back to December.” 2. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is for her too. The girl pictured here was impossibly free: never concerned with what people thought of her. All she cared about was living in the “big ol’ city” Taylor talked about. Her favorite song was “Mean.” 3. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is hers, despite her protests that she was too cool for Taylor. Gone was the unconcerned girl from before and here was the edgy teen with a fiery streak. She was learning for the first time that life is not just supermen and flying sparks. Her favorite song was “Speak Now,” but she’d say it was “Haunted.” 4/5. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is for her. Much older, she was no longer the innocent girl from her childhood room. She was the girl in the dress, crying the whole way home but she was also screaming “bring on all the pretenders” with the greatest band of thieves the world has ever known. Her favorite song was “Long Live.” 6. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is for me. I am terrified of growing up. I have my enchanting love along with the ghosts that haunt me and I’m now living in that big city that once seemed like a magical kingdom. My favorite song is “Dear John.” This album has been with me through every high and every low and I can’t wait to carry this version with me as I continue to grow alongside it. starting tomorrow, everything is going to be okay!! they just announced it / it’s alright, it all worked out! lots of people love me now / everything seems to be coming up roses / one day, far away, bad things come. but that’s not now!! / this is the life bobobobobo / i am carried by the way that i love you spring has sprung and my friends have been in town and i’m getting better at chess and i see Florence Welch in less than two weeks and i feel alright!! there are many Bad things happening but i am carried by all the love in my life :) also Brooks and i celebrated 4.5 years yesterday so you should tell us how awesome and cool we are 😎 she is the best thing ever and has kept me sane despite the insanity of the world!

little trip to philly to see my favorite artist of all time with the people she brought into my life!!!!!! so much of my being is intertwined (🤍) with dodie, from my clothes to the way i speak to the hundreds of moments her music has soundtracked. i can and have and will continue to write essays on her art and all of the love she’s brought me over the last ten years. just feeling very sappy and very thankful that this weekend was as special as it was and reflecting on how none of it would have happened if i hadn’t looked up this doddleoddle gal in the seventh grade :,)

recent highlights include: -wearing the exact same outfit as @lara.brinkman to the club - @gracitha17 telling me I should read Mary Oliver’s “I Worried” from the stage -seeing GDT’s Frankenstein on 35mm !! -fake bob for @kaciee.koen ’s bday -studio time!!!! -squish time!!!! -trans graffiti on Harry Potter ads :,) -bodega cats on the atm -NEW MUNA!!! NEW HARRY!! NEW NOAH!! -the joy of the musical comedy -the joy of theatre overall! hoping the spring brings both spiritual and physical sunshine !

four years with the most perfect girl in the world. cannot believe i found the only other person on the planet who likes taylor swift the correct amount. brooks is the greatest thing ever ever ever and i truly cannot believe how lucky i am…wowowowow!!! she’s the one i want to go through time with :)
