i met leith almost three years ago when they played a show at baby’s all right. they were the first artists to let me shoot their show, when i had no experience, no credentials, and didn’t even dare dream of being a photographer. i met @isysoares at a leith show two years ago, which is how i joined the loveliest team of people at fanaticus.
such a special and full circle show this week :’) forever grateful to know such a special artist 🫂

my lolo <3 pictures from our family home in manila, july 2025
my lolo passed away on april 4th, my birthday. in the earliest moments of my life, my lolo and lola were there. my lola fanning me to sleep at night with a magazine while my mom was working. my lolo taking darren and i to the dollar store every sunday after mass. the two of them telling us how cold they were, leaving the tropical weather of the philippines to stay with us for months at a time.
my lolo was the last of my four grandparents to pass. there are moments of grief that feel unbearable at times, but it is always a reminder of how lucky to be raised by a larger community of people, of which my four grandparents were at the very center.
