Emmy Award Winning Storyteller! This ride is wild. This past weekend was a rollercoaster of emotions laced with years of intentionality. While these photos and video snippets from the actual ceremony take you through a moment in time... let's start at the top. During COVID I made the decision to take a hard pivot from everything CEO Boss bitch, to getting back to my roots as a full time creative. People don't realize I went to college and hold a degree in Television and Video Production, with a minor in Fine Art. I hold certificates in Digital Filmmaking from NYFA. I'm an artist, a writer, a storyteller... I fell into being a CEO. I love @nomadnesstribe . It's changed my life and the lives of tens of thousands of others. Operationally, it's also a vacuum, and I reached a point where I felt like I was losing myself to what I created. A very weird position to be in. In very Aries fashion, I woke up one day reaching a personal pinnacle of 'I refuse', created a plan to bridge and expand our storytelling pillar, and prepped a series of candid conversations I knew I had to have with my team, to prep them for my transition away from the operational aspects, to get back home... to my creative, to my heart, my passion. I missed, me. This...is me. Taking the risk. Listening to my intuition, and going head first. This is a story of intention and focus. This, is also, not just my Emmy. This is Bereng's as well. @itsbereng . I will pour into your talent every chance I get. You deserve!! Bereng is my Scorsese. My Cooglar. When Bereng is on the other side of that camera, I can walk fully into me because I know and trust his talent. I CANNOT WAIT to hand you your statue in person. To anyone who has ever trusted me into your Tribe, to amplify your stories, please know I never take it for granted. I look forward to showcasing so many more communities of color around the world... and picking up a few more Emmy's on the journey. Thank you to everyone involved with the Palm Springs episode -- in particular to @visitgreaterps and @visitcalifornia for paying me to be me 😉😊 Thank you for letting me play. Everyone should be proud. #reallifeevie

Whether you live in Los Angeles, or LAX has become a transportation hub over the years, you know it’s impossible to see the city in totality. However
we tried! Nestled under the watchful eye of Baldwin Hills, I met my friend, Co-Host of Entertainment Tonight (@entertainmenttonight ) and Founder of Sepi Travel (@SepiTrave ), Kevin Frazier (@kevinfrazier ) in Leimert Park. This was the first stop so I could get caught up on all things, and people, that speak to the heartbeat of one of LA’s Black neighborhoods. “I am because we are” is the African meaning of ubuntu. It also happens to be a pillar of the culture curated in Echo Park’s Bloom and Plume Cafe (@bloomandplumecoffee ) and flower design studio, founded by Maurice Harris (@bloomandplume ). This may very well be the first coffee house I’ve been to where I wanted to buy their merchandise as much as their chai! On the other side of the city, in Boyle Heights, I was able to soak in the laughs and talent that graced the stage of the Paramount LA Theater (@theparamountla ) during the live show of my girl Raiza’s (@raizalicea ) improv comedy series and podcast, Spanish Aqui Presents (@spanishaquipresents ). She co-hosts the show with fellow actors and comedians Oscar Montoya (@ozzymo ), Tony Rodriguez (@thetonyrodrig ), and Carlos Santos (@ofcourseitscarlos ). The talent was insane, including the voice on singer @jenawad ! Apparently, so was the persuasion because the one time I did step foot in Hollywood, I ended up on stage as a monologist at the famous Upright Citizen’s Brigade (@ucbtla ). Among Raiza’s many talents, she’s also the first Latina to become UCB’s Artistic Director. I was nervous as ever, theater was packed to the brim, but the way the cast was so masterful and welcoming was indescribable. To Phil Augusta Jackson (@philaugustaj ), Carl Tart (@dammitcarl ), Betsey Sodaro (@betsysodaro ), Marcy Jarreau (#ad #ad đŸ“č: @itsbereng @visitcalifornia @discoverla #visitcalifornia #discoverla

This was me a little over 3 years ago. We were in the second round of IUI, this time with injections that were sending my body into a hormonal tailspin. Not to mention, I'm mortified of needles. I didn’t know I was two months away from finding out I had a begnin pituitary tumor in my brain, or that that would change my focus, and my mind about getting pregnant -- specifically, how. I had just become an Aunt and had no idea what to do with those feelings -- because I didn't want to be one, I wanted to be a Mom. It took me a solid two years as an Aunt to figure out what it meant for me. There should be an Aunt and Uncle's Day by the way -- just saying. I held onto this video, and I feel like today is a good day to release it. I never really watched it. It was always just ...there... taking space in my phone memory. The original version is 4 minutes long, and includes all the rollercoaster of emotions that my face went through. I documented this whole period in depth, and just kept it for myself. Mother's Day is a complex beast for a number of us -- for a plethora of reasons. Be gentle with the women around you. I still haven't even thrown away the insanely expired needle kit and meds from my refrigerator, from three years ago. Every time I clean my fridge, or simply open it, I see the med kit. It doesn't stand out. I don't feel drawn to it. It's just a reminder. That it happened, and we were there once. However, I think it's time to let that kit go when I get home. #reallifeevie #mothersday

First by line of 2026 on 'Route 66 Reimagined' with @visitcalifornia ! I love when my visual storytelling also has the opportunity to be honored in my writing or on a stage for keynotes and panels. There's something about taking one project and figuring out ways to extend and repurpose the reach through various platforms. My Storyteller title is all encompassing, and I'm grateful when a destination allows me to play in various buckets while showing their destination love in all the ways it deserves. Thank you for being that, California! #Route66 #VisitCalifornia đŸ“·: @itsbereng @peopleinc @nomadnesstribe

Happy birthday to our very own @evierobbie đŸ„łđŸŽ‚ To the woman that set the tone. The woman that paved the way. The woman that saw something bigger, trusted her gut, and never looked back. For 15 years you’ve been creating space for people to move, connect & see themselves in places they might not have even imagined before. & we don’t take that lightly. You’ve led with vision, with care and with a true sense of community. And that’s grown into something that has reached so many people in ways that are hard to fully put into words. A lot of what feels “normal” now, is because you did the work first. We appreciate that work, from NOMADNESS to the stories you continue to tell and how it’s always been bigger than just travel, it’s been about the people. We appreciate youđŸ©” Today we celebrate you! Give Evie her flowers and drop some birthday love in the comments!đŸŒč🎂

42 years old. Another birthday has arrived. At 3:13am I'm awoken in Jaipur by the sound of fireworks. This, is how I'm ushered into my birthday on this side of the world. Fitting...I love fireworks. I am fireworks. It's the second birthday I've celebrated in this country, in this city, of nine trips (I think) to India thus far. I have a kindredship with a number of people and specific places here. At 42, I've traveled to about just as many countries, hoarded relationships on various continents, fed my soul through seeing the world (and providing that opportunity for others), and been sculpted and crafted by every piece of it into the woman I am, and present to be. I am grateful. I have more to write. So much more. Those will probably land in my journal, one day in my memoir, and eventually in the world. Grateful to be healthy, beautiful, creative, brave, to dare to curate a big life with no geographic boundaries, successful by self definition not societal, and to just be a good person. May we all hope to be good people -- the world needs more of them. âœŒđŸŸ For my birthday, be kind to someone who doesn't see it coming and can offer you nothing in return. And if you feel so inclined, buy me a chai in my bio link. I mean...I AM in 🇼🇳. đŸ€ #reallifeevie

Today, going through EWR during rush hour. I state this at the beginning of the video, but understand my walk through is not customary of an average traveler. This breakdown used: 1. Clear with TSA Pre Check 2. Premiere Access United 3. Lounge Access 4. Uber These are the times where those traveling privileges (because that's what they are) we pay for can work for you. Safe and the least stressful traveling mercies to everyone! âœŒđŸŸ

Remember that one time the internet didn't know that Black Scottish people existed? From a tourism perspective, was the moment fumbled, or taken advantage of, in your view? 'Culture Can't Be Outsourced' Episode 3 is up, and it's a retrospect of how destinations can flip, extend, and build curiosity around online moments they didn't (maybe) create. Here, I speak to this funny moment that took over TikTok last summer and how Scotland was shown an opportunity for tourism leverage among the Black American market. Interested in your thoughts on this one below... As always, remember... #culturecantbeoutsourced

US Embassies don't work the way y'all think they do...and too many people find out at moments when they are desperately in need of them. I hope this video helps. No, it's not ALL Embassies and staff, but it's enough (especially currently) where I felt this video was necessary. Have you had a circumstance where they WERE helpful? Please leave your stories in the comments.
