Two more sleeps! This collection is the first time we have tried silver lustre (銀彩), both over white Kohiki and some of our darker glazes. We were not sure how it would turn out, but we are pretty happy with how these pieces came together. There is a subtle shimmer to them that only shows up in certain light, which feels just right for this kind of work. Come see them in person at Carriageworks this weekend, and follow along for the final countdown. Finders Keepers Sydney @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks Carriageworks, 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh Fri 1 May, 4–9pm / Sat 2 May, 10am–5pm / Sun 3 May, 10am–5pm All the pieces were crafted by J and C @canberrapotters #everythingflowsstudio #銀彩 #finderskeepers #australianceramics #silverluster

We still think about the moment we found them. A flea market in Japan, the kind of place where old things wait patiently for the right person, and somehow these antique wagashi moulds found us first. We brought a few home, got back into the studio, and spent weeks pressing clay into each hollow, experimenting with glazes and colour until something felt right. What came out are these small ceramic jewellery boxes, each one shaped from a mould that is decades old, carrying hand-carved chrysanthemum, lotus, and matsu in deep red, dusty sage, near black, and creamy white. No two pressings ever come out exactly the same, and that is our favourite part. A limited number are coming with us to : The Finders Keepers Sydney Design Market Carriageworks, Eveleigh, Gadigal Land 1 - 3 May @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks These are the kind of piece that are better held than scrolled past, come find us. We are here! After a week of counting down, today is finally the day. We are all set up at Carriageworks and honestly the table looks better in person than in any of the photos this week. If you have been following along, please come say hi tonight. We would genuinely love to meet you. See you from 4pm. One more sleep. We are ending the countdown with something we had a lot of fun making, our incense holders. Shitake gills, lotus pods, tiny hand-carved flowers small enough to sit in your palm. We make these because lighting incense is one of those small daily rituals that actually changes the feeling of a room, and we wanted the holder to be something worth looking at even when it is not in use. We are also bringing along some incense we sourced from Kyoto, so you can try them together in person. Come find one tomorrow at Carriageworks. We would love to see you there. Finders Keepers Sydney @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks Carriageworks, 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh Fri 1 May, 4–9pm / Sat 2 May, 10am–5pm / Sun 3 May, 10am–5pm All the pieces were crafted by J and C @canberrapotters #everythingflowsstudio #incense #finderskeepers #australianceramics #shitake

Three days to go. This year we made one small change to our wide mug and honestly it made a big difference. We brought the rim in just a little, enough to actually keep your drink warm through a proper winter morning. It still has that same generous, comfortable shape we love, just a bit more practical for the colder months. We have them in a whole range of glazes and every single one feels different in your hands. Come find your one at Carriageworks this week, and follow along as we count down the days. Finders Keepers Sydney @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks Carriageworks, 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh Fri 1 May, 4–9pm / Sat 2 May, 10am–5pm / Sun 3 May, 10am–5pm All the pieces were crafted by J and C @canberrapotters #everythingflowsstudio #coffee #finderskeepers #australianceramics #コーヒー

Four days to go. Honestly, the poppy has shown up in our work more than we ever planned. The scalloped edge of a saucer, the fluted walls of an incense holder, the way a plate opens outward like a bloom sitting in the sun. It is just a flower we keep coming back to, and somewhere along the way it found its way into the clay too. We are bringing a whole table of these to Carriageworks this week and we cannot wait to show you in person. Follow along as we count down the days. Finders Keepers Sydney @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks Carriageworks, 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh Fri 1 May, 4–9pm / Sat 2 May, 10am–5pm / Sun 3 May, 10am–5pm All the pieces were crafted by J and C @canberrapotters #everythingflowsstudio #輪花 #finderskeepers #australianceramics #poppy

Five days to go. There is a quiet that lives in the surface of these pieces. We use a Kohiki technique here, white slip laid over dark clay that crazes as it dries into something that looks less like ceramics and more like dry earth or the skin of an old stone. Each crack unplanned, each speckle its own. Imagine your favourite bulb plant nestled inside, the rough texture of the vessel meeting the soft unfurling of new growth. Come find these planters and small vases at Carriageworks this week, and follow along as we count down the days. Finders Keepers Sydney @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks Carriageworks, 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh Fri 1 May, 4–9pm / Sat 2 May, 10am–5pm / Sun 3 May, 10am–5pm All the pieces were crafted by J and C @canberrapotters #everythingflowsstudio #植木鉢 #finderskeepers #australianceramics #planter

Six days to go. Some pieces arrive quietly. A teapot takes time, each part shaped by hand, assembled slowly, and fired until something shifts. These three came out of that long, unhurried process, and they carry it with them. Black, deep earth, and ivory, the same bones, three different moods. Come see them at Finders Keepers Sydney next week. And if you want a closer look before then, follow along as we count down the days. Finders Keepers Sydney @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks Carriageworks, 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh Fri 1 May, 4–9pm / Sat 2 May, 10am–5pm / Sun 3 May, 10am–5pm All the pieces were crafted by J and C @canberrapotters #everythingflowsstudio #utsuwa #finderskeepers #australianceramics #teapot

Seven days to go, and we cannot wait to see you there. This week we are counting down to Finders Keepers Sydney with a daily look at the pieces we are bringing along. First up is our ivory tableware series, the one we keep coming back to. Smooth where it needs to be, textured where it wants to be, and made to be used every single day. Follow along this week for more, and come find us at Carriageworks next weekend. Finders Keepers Sydney @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks Carriageworks, 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh Fri 1 May, 4–9pm / Sat 2 May, 10am–5pm / Sun 3 May, 10am–5pm All the pieces were crafted slowly by J and C @canberrapotters #everythingflowsstudio #utsuwa #finderskeepers #australianceramics

These are the cups we keep coming back to. We have been playing with slip and engobe across this whole collection, layering and brushing until each surface found its own character. Some came out smoky and worn, some pale and soft as morning light, some as deep and matte as a dark night. Each one sits differently in your hands. All the pieces will be available at: The Finders Keepers Sydney Design Market Carriageworks, Eveleigh, Gadigal Land 1 - 3 May @thefinderskeepersmarket @carriageworks Come find the one that feels like yours. Follow along so you catch all the details before market day. #handmadeceramic #utsuwa #teacup #australianceramics

Sydney, we’re coming for you. We will be at Finders Keepers Market Sydney in just two weeks and we’ve been busy. We’re bringing a full range of new work, from tableware, jewellery boxes, incense holders, to plant pots, and colours we’ve spent the past six months refining and testing until they felt just right. It’s been a slow and intentional process, and we can’t wait to finally share them with you.
