The coat of hopes came for a visit last Friday to our monthly meeting.
“The Coat of Hopes is a patchwork coat on an ongoing walking pilgrimage through the UK towards the end of the climate and ecological emergency.
It has been made by and worn and walked by many hundreds of people on a journey on foot of over 2000 miles so far. It carries people’s hopes for the places they live, sewn into the blanket patches of which it is made. All who encounter it are invited to wear it and take a moment to be conscious of themselves at this time”
The coat was stitch, mended and tried on by many who are now coat pilgrims!
The coat will be in Frome until Friday 4th May at Christ Church.
Visit coat of hope website for more details.

Come and see all that has happened over the past few years with community grant funded projects. This video highlights our Sewing the Seeds project which invited individuals and community groups to gain an understanding of fibres that were both edible and produced sustainable cloth. Linen and nettle were explored and next we are hoping to widen our project to look at other fibres from soil and returned to the soil. The two shops at the bottom of Cheap Street in Frome are open each day this week so pop in and take a look. Big thank you to all and @katekearapelen . #community #textiles #flax #nettle
