This week @itshydraulix dropped his new EP “All Gas No Brakes” on @deadbeats , and we finally get to say it out loud — Everyday Human Studios created a full series of music videos and social media bumpers for the release. This project was the perfect collision of everything we love: practical effects, punk Americana, late-night problem-solving, and a community of artists who genuinely care about making wild ideas real. Huge love to @harry_eats_bagels for bringing us onto this project and trusting us to go all-in on style, narrative, and worldbuilding. You let us push the boundaries of what this EP could feel like — that means everything thank you! One-minute charcoal destructive repetition drawings Close friends and family as the subjects One continuous line Then wipe it away and start again No hiding behind rendering skill Last year I learned a simple but brutal exercise from my mentor @watiewhite doing continuous line contour drawings in 60-second bursts. There's no lifting the charcoal, no fixing, no saving; just looking, moving, responding. Then smudge and wipe the entire piece of paper off and start again. Wiping the charcoal away forces detachment from the work. No preciousness, no polishing, no ego. The value lives solely in the act, not the art or work when it's done. There’s no time to make it pretty, only time to make it honest. Since 2014, Harrison has developed a distinct visual language that intersects art, science, and speculative futures. With a background in biomechanical engineering, he integrates anatomical precision with the imaginative influences of science fiction cinema and artists such as Hajime Sorayama. Drawing from themes of biology, futurism, cyberpunk, and dark fantasy, his work explores the increasingly blurred boundary between the organic and the mechanical.
