I’ve been testing a couple of mirror panels for a new project, and even on a phone - it already feels like magic.
On a cinema camera, it’s going to be something else.
It’s fascinating how a flat white wall can turn into depth, movement, and contrast - just with light.
Just two panels. Gold and silver.
Usually I don’t share phone tests…
but this one felt worth it.

BTS assisting @bernardbrand at Publicis Studio, Johannesburg. Built a custom front-of-lens glass @shittyrigs for the @fujifilm_sa GFX. And lit everything with some Nanlite and Nanlux sources, and shaped everything with the @eversirius Rayflex kit to control spill and contrast.

The cinematographer @nicolai_garrido used the RayFlex M-25 multi-mirror reflector kit with a Nanlux 60C to shape a galaxy-inspired look for this kickboxing clothing commercial.
By bending and blending 8 tiles in different millimeters
5mm / 10mm / 20mm / 25mm
in silver and gold, he created shimmering light spots on the talent’s face to evoke fantasy, drive, and the inner world of athletes.
They combined reflector movement with changes in shutter speed and FPS to build the final atmosphere the creative team envisioned.
