SHOVEL & SHRED 2026! WHAT A WEEKEND 🫶 We started this event in 2021 at North Mountain in Darrington, a weekend for women and non-binary riders to grow their skills and confidence by spending a day building trails, followed by a day of riding, alongside Evergreen builders and pro athletes. This year we switched things up and sent it to Port Gamble in our @evergreenws chapter! After the last couple years of rain and even snow at North Mountain, getting two full days of warm temps and sunshine was sure nice at Port Gamble☀️ Together, we rebuilt Over Hard (finished and ready to ride!)🪏 sessioned new lines🤘 progressed with guidance from Evergreen instructors, @sweetlines , and @hannahbergemann 🚵‍♀️ raced Mario Party-themed dual slalom⭐️ party trained down Ranger🌲 and camped under the stars. Big thanks to @transition_outpost for the hot dogs and suspension clinics, @sourdoughwillyspizzeria for the pizza, and @redbullusa for keeping us going all weekend! After a decade of planning and years of creative trail-building efforts, the Cookie Cutter Trail System at Naneum Ridge finally gets its official grand opening this weekend! The network features a dozen trails covering 14 miles with more than 1,500 feet of vert. 👀 Click the link in bio for details and the backstory.

COMMUNITY POWERED. 🔥🍕 Yesterday morning we got to officially welcome one of the raddest supporters of the Evergreen West Sound chapter to the woods… 🤘🌲🚲 Huge shoutout to Will Grant and the crew at Sourdough Willy’s Pizzeria for stepping up and supporting our community in a BIG way! 🙌🍕 Every single work party we host — from restoration days to dig sessions to community events — Will keeps our volunteers fueled with world-class sourdough pizza, hot wings, and good vibes… ALL donated to our chapter at zero cost. ❤️🍕🔥 And if you didn’t know… the legendary sourdough starter used at Sourdough Willy’s traces its roots all the way back to the Klondike Gold Rush. 🏔️🥖⛏️ Yeah… this pizza has history. 😎🍕 That means more dollars going directly back into trails, tools, restoration, and keeping this amazing riding community growing. 🌲⛏️🚵 Yesterday we installed the brand new trail adoption sign on ICEMAN ❄️🧊 along with the new “Proudly Fueled By” sponsor sign during the @evergreenmtb Shovel & Shred / @redbull all women’s dig day! 💪👷‍♀️🚵‍♀️ And the coolest part? 👀🍕 Scan the QR code right on the trail adoption sign before you leave the park and have your pizza order ready to roll by the time you’re hopping on the ferry or heading back south toward Tacoma. 🚗⛴️🔥 Support the businesses that support your trails. 👊 Seriously… go grab a pie from @sourdoughwillyspizza and tell them the Wild Westies sent you. 🍕🤠 THANK YOU WILL. After 7 years of trail development, it’s time to officially open this new trail system 🎉 Join @evergreenmtb and @washdnr for the Grand Opening of the Cookie Cutter Trail System in Naneum Ridge State Forest on May 16th! This brings 12 new singletrack trails (about 14 miles total) to Naneum Ridge in the Evergreen Kittitas Chapter, from smooth beginner lines like Basalt Flow to intermediate and advanced downhill options on the upper ridge—plus a skills area with 7 short trails to build confidence and session features. Yesterday was International Women’s Mountain Bike Day, and to celebrate, the Biking Betties continued work on the first women‑designed and women‑built trail at Beacon. This year we were able to get the entire trail cut in and even start shaping some of the berms. We’re excited for fall when we can get everything polished up and start deciding on jump placement. Table Manners will be a beginner tabletop jump trail where riders will begin their jump‑progression journey. Having a dirt lab where women can learn building techniques has been invaluable. Watching everyone’s curiosity, confidence, skill, and problem‑solving grow throughout this project has been incredible. I’m so excited to see a new generation of trail builders bringing unique perspectives and creativity to Beacon. Their ideas and approaches will only make the hill better. Shout out to Emma for all her hard work and dedication organizing events and to all the ladies who have shown up to make this dream happen. Congrats to Kacey for earning her Betties Dirt Bag yesterday! Take up space, ladies. Your opinions and perspectives matter in the riding community.
