Contrary to popular belief, floral design is an art. All the principles and elements are used (or should be) to create a successful design. Florals have been used as a muse for artists for centuries.
Artists capture the ephemeral fleeting beauty of flowers in paintings, sculpture, or photographs. This is why I love that @artsmemphis has included floral installations as part of Art by Design. Itās been an honor to represent my art form to the art and design community. #memphisflorist #memphisweddingflorist #floralart #floraldesignisart #fineartflorist
Iāve always dreamed of creating a floral dress! I was thrilled to be invited to participate in @memphisbotanic Petals and Parasols event. #memphisflorist #floralart #mayeshfloristryisart #memphisweddingflorist floraldesigner

Bridal bouquets are honestly not my favorite thing to make. Am I the only florist who kinda dreads them? 20 plus years in and I wish I could make them without stressing. But I take your flowers very seriously. You can be sure I have not just thrown it together. Iāve obsessed over every stem placement and made sure itās picture perfect. #memphisweddingflorist #memphisflorist #bridalbouquet #floraleducation
As a recovering color spectrum addict, monochromatic florals can be challenging for me. Getting a little practice in before our all purple wedding next weekend. #memphisweddingflorist #monocromaticflowers #purpleflowers #floraldesign #fineartflowers

Today is Ostara. Equal day and night, celebrating balance, renewal, and the return of light. It is a time for planting seeds and setting intentions. Itās time to
Each time this fritillaria is in season I'm blown away by its design. I mean seriously!? It is checkered! I have to capture its incredible detail. The hellebore and its color is just as mind blowing.
Nine years ago, I opened the studio on Broad to be a place to produce weddings, to teach, and to host other creatives.
Over time, it became so much more.
It became a place many of you lovingly called your āhappy place.ā
That will always mean more to me than I can say.
Thank you for every class taken, every holiday season spent with us, every bouquet carried out the door, every plant chosen, every gift wrapped, every moment of kindness shared within those walls.
From Valentineās Day rushes to Motherās Day mornings, from workshops filled with laughter to quiet afternoons arranging flowers ā this space was alive because of you.
The shop doors are closed, but my gratitude is endless.
Thank you for nine extraordinary years.
