“You should do voiceover work!”.
“You should do a podcast!”.
“You should join a talent agency!”.
“You should write a book - your writing is amazing!”.
These are comments that I graciously and lovingly get very often from friends, family, coworkers and acquaintances alike, and I retain them with equal parts humility, gratitude and “maybe ...”.
Well ... I’ve officially joined talent agency Nine9 to be cast in anything and everything from voiceover work in animation to a possible extra in THE LAST OF US Season 3, the podcast is still very much in the works (with supreme love to Hugo Lachance for his experience, advice and friendship), and I’m writing a book!
Anyone who knows me knows that when I set myself to do something, I see it through and make it happen unless someone else pulls the rug out from under me.
This book is happening - I am getting it published.
I have long wanted to write about my life - from innocence, to chaos, to centredness and happiness - and many have encouraged me to do so. I listened.
I am in no mad rush to finish this, so it’s going to be a labour of love and I’ll let everyone know when it has been completed, proofread, edited and is ready for publishing. The best part will be the ending, because I won’t know it and neither will you, so we’ll both just have to wait and see when it happens ... 😉🥰🧠🫀📖

So, to all of you who have been so concerned and beautiful regarding my surgery and health, there is a major update ...
I was contacted with my sleep study results this afternoon, and it isn’t according to Hoyle (old man jargon - Google it).
As I suspected, I have severe sleep apnea, although I’m not a snorer (I suffer in silence).
I stop breathing an average of 35 times an hour ... 😬
That being the case, both surgery number deux (septoplasty) and a CPAP or preferably APAP machine are in my imminent future.
I’m about to become “twinsies” with my wife, and I’m definitely getting an Alien facehugger or Predator mask to make this as fun as it could ever conceivably be, or at least scare the jammies off of her each night. 🤣
I’m gonna be just fine, but to my friends who smoke I implore you ... STOP.
This (or worse) could be in your future, for even though I quit 8 years ago I stupidly did it for 24 years, so the damage she be done.

It has become an obnoxiously violated covenant in the past few years for a band to say “this is the end”, “we’re calling it quits”, “we’re bowing out”, “this is the last album/tour” … only to perjure themselves in a few months to a year with the proclamation that “we’re back!” and keep chasing money like it owes them something (see such flagrant offenders as KISS, SAGA, MOTLEY CRÜE, etc). 🤣🤷♂️🤑
That being said, if this IS in fact the final album and act for Brazil’s legendary SEPULTURA, then it’s a great one and they should be proud of themselves.
A four original track cap on a 42 year journey, “The Cloud of Unknowing” boasts of the “maybe” only recorded performance of “final” killer drummer Greyson Nekrutman, Paulo Jr’s unwavering ferocity on bass, the bonafide guitar genius of Andreas Kisser and the criminally underrated vocal majesty of Derrick Green.
It’s a great curtain call - my only malaise being that I wish it were longer.
SEPULTURA have had a wildly divided fan base for the better part of 30 years, after cofounder Max Cavalera had an acrimonious split with the band that remains so due to his frothing dismissal of the band’s amazing work following his departure (his brother and cofounder Iggor left 10 years and 4 albums later). The phrase “No Cavalera - No Sepultura” is as pushed by purists as it is inaccurate, when one considers that the current lineup have lasted 30 years longer than Max’s initial baby and (in my estimation) written circles around him during that time. Two things can be true at the same time, and to me, the entire body of work IS, in fact, SEPULTURA.
I missed their “final” Canadian performance early this month, but as a good friend pointed out to me (and he’s usually bang on), money and time talk.
If they do a “just kidding … we’re back!”, I might have to pull a Doc Holliday, admit that my hypocrisy knows no bounds and go give them my love one more time.
If not, this is a beautiful last love letter to a fandom that should accept and respect all the moments in a brilliant career. 🤘😎❤️🎶 @sepultura@andreaskisser@derrickgreenofficial@greyson_nekrutman
