Thank you to everyone who joined the first live of this season of The Event Designer Hour. ā¤ļøšŸ™šŸ» Tonight’s conversation was an honest one. Your team problem is not always a people problem. Most times, it is a structure problem. When standards are not documented, systems are weak, communication is unclear, and execution depends fully on your presence, burnout becomes inevitable. The goal is not to build a business where everything works because you are there. The goal is to build a business that can execute with excellence even in your absence. Thank you for showing up, sharing, listening, and leaning into the conversation. We go again next Friday, 7pm WAT on Instagram Live at @enchantedeventsng . This season will be powerful.

Meet Oluwatoyin Onwodi, one of our 2024 EDB students, and her story is one that might sound a lot like yours. She knew she wanted more for her business… she just couldn’t place what was missing. Then she found our free webinar. She planned to stay for 30 minutes… but stayed for 3 hours.Because in that moment, she realized; this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. And that decision changed everything. According to her: āœ”ļø Her confidence skyrocketed āœ”ļø Her proposals became stronger and more compelling āœ”ļø She increased her pricing (and owned it) āœ”ļø She and her team started delivering excellence (even without being on-site) Mind you, this wasn’t a beginner. She was already an established event professional. But she refused to stay stuck. She chose growth. And she got it. This is your reminder: You don’t need to start over, you just need to level up. 🚨 The EDB waitlist is now OPEN. If you’ve been feeling that nudge for ā€œmoreā€ā€¦ this is your sign. šŸ‘‰ Click the link in our bio to join the waitlist and secure your spot

We are going live todayšŸ’ƒ The Event Designer Hour is back and today’s topic is one that most event designer and planner are dealing with in silence. Why your staff keep letting you down. And it is not what you think. If you have ever found yourself correcting the same mistakes over and over. Retraining the same people. Doing things yourself because it is faster than explaining. Showing up to every event feeling like the only person who actually cares about the standard. This session is for you. Because the problem is almost never the people. It is the absence of the systems, the documentation, and the structure that tells people exactly what to do, how to do it, and what excellent looks like. And that is fixable. Come with your questions. Come with your frustrations. Come ready to have the most honest conversation about team and operations you have had all year. Real answers. Real strategies. Real growth. šŸ“… Today Ā· Friday May 15th ā° 7PM WAT šŸ“ IG Live @enchantedeventsng Save this post. Set your reminder right now. I will see you there. šŸ¤

In ten years of executing at the highest level I have worked with clients who had enormous budgets and made every single day harder than it needed to be. And I have worked with clients with modest budgets who were an absolute pleasure, clear, decisive, respectful of the process, and grateful for the outcome. Budget tells you what someone can spend. It does not tell you who they are to work with. So what actually makes a client premium? They respect your expertise. They hire you because they trust your judgement, not to copy someone else’s work or micromanage your process. They respect your time. They respond promptly, make decisions without endless back and forth, and understand that their indecision has a cost to your operations. They do not negotiate your value. They understand what you charge reflects what the work costs to deliver properly. If the budget does not align they tell you honestly rather than trying to extract more for less. They make your best work possible. They give you the brief clearly, the access you need, and the trust to deliver. Because of all of that you can actually work at the standard you set out to achieve. Budget matters. I am not dismissing that. But the event professionals who build sustainable premium businesses are not just chasing the highest invoice. They are building a client base that is aligned, that respects the work, and that creates the conditions for the business to grow. That is a positioning decision. A filtering decision. And it starts with knowing how to vet your clients properly. Knowing who to say yes to, who to walk away from, and how to build the systems that filter the wrong ones out before they ever reach your inbox. Client vetting is one of the things we teach inside the Event Designer Profit Blueprint. Because the wrong client at the right budget will cost you more than the right client at a lower one. After ten years in this industry and 9-figure events year after year, here is what I know. The event professionals who are still standing are not always the most talented ones in the room. They are the ones who built something that could survive their worst month. Because talent is abundant in this industry. I have met event professionals who could design a room that stops your breath. Who have an eye for detail most clients will never fully appreciate. And some of them are barely surviving. Not because the industry does not need them. Because talent without structure is just potential. It does not protect you when a vendor pulls out 48 hours before the event. It does not protect you when a client delays payment and three invoices are due. It does not protect you when you are sick or exhausted and the business still needs to deliver. Structure does. A business that is structured can survive a bad month. A business built purely on talent cannot, because when the talent takes a break, the business stops. I have watched gifted event professionals exit this industry not because they failed at events but because they never built the infrastructure that could hold the business beyond their personal capacity. And I have watched less naturally gifted professionals build quietly and systemically, and outlast everyone around them. The difference was never talent. It was always structure. Pricing built from real numbers. Systems that ran without them present. A team following documented processes. A client strategy that brought the right people consistently instead of relying on hope. After a decade at the highest level, everything I have built that has lasted was built on structure. The creativity made it beautiful. The structure made it sustainable. Talent gets you in the room. Structure keeps you in business. Cohort 3 of the Event Designer Profit Blueprint opens June 9th. Waitlist members get early bird pricing and first access. Join the waitlist now. Most event designers are doing the most… creating beautiful concepts, impressing clients, staying fully booked. Yet still struggling with: – low profit – burnout – stressful clients – inconsistent income Why? Because talent without structure will always lead to exhaustion, not expansion. A profitable event design business is not built on creativity alone. It’s built on systems, pricing, positioning, and client experience. That’s the difference between designers who are busy… and designers who are actually building wealth. And that’s exactly what we focus on inside The Event Designer Profit Blueprint. This is not a design class. It’s a business transformation framework designed to help you: āœ” increase your profit āœ” attract better clients āœ” build a structured, scalable brand Because success in this industry isn’t about doing more… it’s about doing things the right way. Ready to build a business that pays you properly? Comment ā€œACADEMYā€ we will send you the link to join the waitlist. Be among the first to get early bird access and other benefits.

She left her event for 4 hours to go to her pharmacy job. She came back to find setup still running. Team executing exactly as planned. No chaos. No frantic calls. No stalling. Just a well-oiled machine doing exactly what she had built it to do. That was Tolu Ahmed of Tofinity Decor. EDB Cohort 2 protege. Before the program she was running her event design business on passion and hustle while working full-time. She and her husband were managing everything alone. She had no pricing structure, no SOPs, no system her team could follow without her in the middle of every single thing. She was the business. And that was the problem. By the time she executed that wedding, everything had changed. She presented her proposal in a way clients accepted without question. She had SOPs with photos, loading plans, team assignments, and quality check procedures documented before setup began. And when she had to leave for four hours, the business did not stop. It kept going. Because the system held. She said it herself. For the first time in my business life, setup went on just fine in my absence. I did not need to be physically involved in every detail. It truly felt like a dream. She also said no to balloons for the first time. A service she had been forcing herself to offer for years because she was afraid to disappoint. She narrowed her scope. She stayed in her zone of genius. And she executed with ease. A non-converted client later sent her a message saying her proposal was truly exceptional work. And Tolu did not discount. Did not fold. Did not compromise. Because she now knew exactly what level she operated at. And she was no longer available for less. This is what six weeks inside the Event Designer Profit Blueprint does. Not motivation. Not inspiration. Structure. Systems. Clarity. Confidence. Cohort 3 opens June 9th. Waitlist members get early bird pricing and first access when doors open. Join the waitlist now. A few years ago I was invited to speak at a session for event designers and planners. About forty people in the room. At some point I decided to run a roleplay exercise. I told the room, I am your client. I am reaching out about an event I want to host. I need a quote. Same brief. Same event. Same guest count. Same city. One brief. Forty designers. Write your number down. When I put the range on the board, the room went quiet. The lowest and the highest were 800% apart. Eight hundred percent. Same brief. Same room. I asked, how did you arrive at your number? One based it on what she charged last year. One stayed below competitors she had seen online. One went with what felt right based on my energy on the brief. And one had started with a higher number, then halved it before writing it down. Because she felt it was too much. She discounted herself before the client said a single word. Then I asked one final question. How many of you have ever sat down with your actual numbers and built your price from the ground up? Out of forty event creatives, four hands went up. Four. The other thirty six were pricing from instinct. From fear. From whatever felt safe enough not to lose the booking. This is not a story about those forty people. This is the reality of an entire industry. Nobody teaches event creatives how to price. And the result? Talented people finishing beautiful events and opening their accounts to find almost nothing. Discounting under pressure because there is nothing solid underneath the number to stand behind. The four who raised their hands were not charging the highest. But they were the only ones who could tell me exactly why their number was what it was. That is the difference. Building that structure is one of the things we teach inside the Event Designer Profit Blueprint course. Cohort 3 opens June 9th. Waitlist gets early bird pricing and first access. Save this. Share it with every event creative still guessing their number. Join the waitlist. Link in bio.
