Introducing the Family Drugs Collective! Last but not least: Evan Robinson!
Evan Robinson (b. 1999) is a Nisga’a artist from the Pacific Northwest Coast, born and based in Edmonton, Alberta. Working primarily through printmaking, drawing, and text-based practices,
Robinson’s work is concerned with narrative transmission, trace, and the ways stories move between bodies, materials, and states of perception. His practice often draws from spiritualist histories, dream encounters, and Indigenous and maritime folkloric traditions. He treats these sources not as allegory but as lived or recorded experiences that leave marks.
In 2025–2026, Robinson’s work was featured in nâpêhkâsowinowâk, a group exhibition at the Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton. Recent exhibitions include marrowline at SNAP Gallery, Edmonton (2025) and Fields at Access Gallery, Vancouver, BC (2024). In autumn 2025, he was a Visiting Artist in Residence at St. Michael’s Printshop in St. John’s, Newfoundland, where he led a workshop centered on maritime folkloric tales alongside creation stories from his First Nation.
Robinson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta and his work continues to examine how memory, belief, and narrative persist through material practice.
At the gallery, Evan helps with prep work, maintenance, and merchandise production.

this guy was on display over at @themetrocinema a couple months back for my exhibition there. feels good getting back into ink painting after a little hiatus!
today I say goodbye to a body of work that has been at the forefront of my mind for the better part of two years.
it feels strange packing it up for what could be the last time. strange that something I've leaned on so often can be peeled off gallery walls and stored away in boxes. just like that.
so it goes.
I'm incredibly thankful to all the people who have supported this work over the past little while. I feel so indebted to each of you. I don't know how to explain it.
but thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all.
💚
I shot this video at @snapgallery back in June of 2025.
the audio is from an interview with Mitch from @youraga in December 2025.
chat soon!
i’m excited to share that Season’s Greetings will be opening at @themetrocinema next month.
it’s a small gathering of ink paintings, prints, drawings, and installation shaped by my long relationship with horror cinema. the kind of films that let uncertainty breathe. the quiet ones. the ones that stay with you.
Season’s Greetings
Metro Gallery
Reception: Thursday, December 4, 5:30–7 PM
Screening: Black Christmas (1974) at 7 PM
i’ll be saying a few words before the film.
December 1–31, 2025
this work sits in the darker part of the year. the quiet. the cold. the hum under everything. horror has always helped me look at that space more closely.
i’m incredibly grateful to be sharing this work in a place that shaped so much of how i see. like many of you, i grew up going to movies at the metro. it’s an honour to show work in one of my favourite places on earth.
if you’re around, come say hello!
🎄🎁🎅
some images from marrowline, along with a few I’ve taken in st. john’s, NL, working along the harbour and meeting some lovely people. I’ll be sharing more from out here very shortly. also a little announcement!
I’m thrilled and deeply honoured to be showing a mix of familiar and new work in a group exhibition at @youraga

a few shots from my solo show marrowline! this work will be up at @snapgallery til July 19th! make sure to see it!!
also, we'll be hosting an artist talk in the gallery space on Tuesday, July 15th from 6-7PM (probably followed by a couple drinks at a pub nearby lmao). come by the gallery if youd like to learn more about my work, process, ideas or if you have any questions for me! I'd love to see ya.
the work in this show combines a whole bunch of different elements (cyanotype, woodcut, carved sculpture, slaps, flyers, paste-ups and drawings - big n small). focusing on this work got me through some pretty tough times and became a huge outlet while I was processesing my greif. my hope with the work is that it might resonate with and comfort others who experience these complex emotions and circumstances of life. marrowline is dedicated to all those who are no longer with us.
much love everyone!! hope to see you soon.
a lil behind the scenes look at the install for my solo show marrowline!
