Øleg&Kaśka have been working together since summer 2018. Both artists graduated with master's degrees from the University of Fine Arts in Poznań (Poland) in 2020. Their intermedia work, which combines painting, drawing, sculpture, and occasionally video, is strongly influenced by alchemical poetics, layering of symbols and meanings, and a pluralistic narrative style connecting the past, present, and future. Their work draws on fantasy, mythology, history, and folklore, often finding inspiration in the Middle Ages and early modern times. Humor and playfulness play an important role in their work, through which they reflect on contemporary social and generational questions. Øleg&Kaśka has exhibited at the Suprainfinit Gallery in Bucharest, the Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (MoMA), the SKALA Gallery in Poznań, the Gdańsk City Gallery, the Berlínskej Model and Prám spaces in Prague, the Spread Museum in Entrevaux, the Sonneundsolche Gallery in Düsseldorf, and other venues.
exhibition Øleg&Kaśka - The Food of Life, curated by Eva Slabá, will open on Thursday November 20, 6–9 pm in Prague
