Got a ride to mill valley depot from @ckahn84 this morning and ran the Dipsea, the hills are brutal! Did it in 1 hr 36 Min I feel I can do a lot better time wise, I need to focus on hills in the next 5 weeks for sure.
First pic is my very first Hachi Roku, second pic is my new project. Can say how much I love these cars and how much they shaped my early 20’s. Hands down the most fun car I’ve ever driven. Shoutout to @oldskooldrift for the opportunity 🙏gonna replace the hatch with a JBlood fiberglass one, cut out and weld new rear quarters, re skin the roof and then re paint the whole thing red, in the future maybe throw in a silver or black top 20 valve, Bride Brix seat, new dash etc. so stoked to have a project to work on. #ae86 #hachiroku
Happy bday to my baby boy! 10 years ago you came into our lives, thank you for being the best boy ever, teaching me to slow down and enjoy the momen. Love you more than you’ll ever know Bug!
After 10 years or so I finally got a @firefly_glass pendy! First one I saw in person was on @808genetics.llc when I did an article for @skunkmagazine years ago, told myself I would get one one day. Had to bless myself for my 45th bday last week. 🙏💚
Headiest hotel lobby ever! Dale Chihuly’s Fiori Di Como instillation at Bellagio in Vegas, comprised of 2,000 glass blossoms. 40,000 pounds of glass mounted on the ceiling.
Yesterday marked 20 years for chelsea and I being together, 20 years ago we went on a date at broken drum, I told her I was going to marry her, she laughed, here we are, married 15 years. I love you more than you’ll ever know💚💚💚
Sitting in my hospital bed 4 years ago I told myself@I was gonna run the Dipsea if I could ever walk again. Taken 4 years to actually start running, came back from Panama on December 3rd and started running and stopped drinking hard alcohol, to be honest I’ve had some shots but nothing like I was drinking for the last 4 years. I have listened to all the motivating books for years @cameronrhanes@davidgoggins and I thought that would motivate me to start getting back in shape. No surprise it turns out you can listen to all the books/podcasts you want, but those books are not gonna make you do the work. You have to have a come to moment and realize its you that’s needs to take the step to get into shape. Once you do that all those books/podcasts help keep you motivated. I’ve been running since December, started out dying trying to run two miles, fast forward to now I’m running 5 miles 3 days a week, I’ve finally got into shape and it feels so good to set my pace and run. It reminds me when I was in 5/6th grade and ran the Dipsea. I’ve been running in @hoka speed goat 6s @underarmour shorts and using a @therunculture belt that I carry my water and phone in. I’m trying to enter the Dipsea this year to run with my dad @lloyd.kahn who set the Dipsea Demon record last year for the fastest 90 year old ever in the history of the race. Hoping I can get in and run with him. Also started the Snot Rocket Running Club if anyone wants to join!
I cant believe your gone my brother, I love you so much, I will miss our heckle fests, talking about life. I’m gonna miss our hangs at your house in dogtown and meeting up yearly for Mikey’s bday to have a shot of Jack Daniel’s in honor of him. I’ll miss your silly photos you’d send me in your Burger King crown or screen shots of Kirk Lazarus from Tropic Thunder. Fly free my brother your with God now. Say hello to Mikey for me and the whole crew. 💚💚💚
I remember when I broke my neck, I was in John Muir after my surgery I just gained feeling in my right side of the fist time after the break, but my left side was really messed up, I had to use a cane for weeks until@j could walk without it. I remember one day having a crazy idea to run the Dipsea if I regained the full use of all my limbs. My surgeon said 1 out of 10 of my injuries can walk again, he said I would most likely be paralyzed from my waist down. I remember waking up out of my 10 hour surgery and wiggling both my toes and arms, crying in disbelief. For the last few years I tried to get into running again but would run a day or two and stop. Been pushing myself every day for the last two weeks to run every day. Started a mile a day and this week started 2 miles a day. Feels so good to run again, hardest part is convincing myself after a long day of work to throw on my running gear and get a mile or two, feels good to conquer my inner voice saying “take a nap” hopefully I get into the Dipsea next year and I can run with my dad @lloyd.kahn the new Dipsea Demon, fastest 90 year old guy to run it.
Well that’s a wrap Panama, I think we found our happy place. Only took multiple trips to multiple country’s to find this place. We’ll be back next year Bocas! This trip has been so good spending time with my love, meeting new friends, self reflecting on life, and all around appreciating life and realizing how special it all is. Heart is more@full@than it has ever been. Ready to get home and get back on my grind 🙏💚
