May Day 2026.
There's many many beautiful things in this world worth fighting for. Only when we are fighting alongside each other can we win. On Friday, we were doing it, and it was good. Now we must keep doing it, everyday!
Solidarity Forever

ESLC had a wonderful time hosting artists Marty Two Bulls Jr. and Evan Kassof for Kent Cultural Alliance's summer residency focused on climate! This summer, we took Marty and Evan to farms, wildlife habitats, and sustainable town centers around Kent County to teach them all about our conservation work in the area, which is the county that is most at risk on the Eastern Shore for fire and drought, the threat and repercussions of which would be greatly magnified if the area were more developed.
Evan and Marty's final work will be exhibited at the @kentculturalalliance Raimond Cultural Center in Chestertown through September 6. It's an engaging and thought-provoking multi-sensory gallery of work where you can learn about bobwhite quail, spotted lanternflies, water quality, and human responses to climate challenges all through music and art. Thank you to @kentculturalalliance for including ESLC as a partner this summer and thanks to Marty and Evan for sharing the story of our conservation, stewardship, and advocacy through art and music.

Went to LA! Saw dolphins and whales, the Marlins lose, beautiful nature, awesome movies, the Milky Way, some union stuff, and a very important mug. Thank you MG for being the best host ever!
Moose tracks make a great rock stop! Hiked to the very very beginning of the Tongue River today to record some beautiful music and river babbles -- a truly breathtaking (high altitude sucks) studio! Very excited to spend the next few weeks talking to people in Wyoming about water and making some wonderful music!
A year ago tonight! The most amazing thing I've gotten to be a part of and I'm not sure it'll ever be topped! @_tugsa_
All the folks involved, I love you.

Leaving Wyoming was a lot harder than I thought! Roundtrip, I spent about 10 days there between Sheridan, Grand Teton, Ten Sleep, and the very trendy town of Casper. So many lovely, creative people who are as down chat as they are to jam!
@tensleepbrewingco is an amazing place and the job they did hosting the statewide singer songwriter competition was excellent. What a party and thanks for letting me make some noise with new friends there!
Thanks for sharing the photo, @wyoraine !!!
Solo cello and Irrigation Flute playing sounds of the Pacific Ocean recorded under the Milky Way. Looking for ways to improvise in these sounds and remembering how to play the cello (as well as learning how to play it in a very peculiar (and just) tuning).
It's strange being in a verdant ranch in the desert -- water is at the core of everything here. How/if that's a musical circumstance is something I'm still trying to figure out. Math is helping, so is a hammock by the creek. The stars have been great, at least before the wildfire smoke.
Tomorrow is showtime at dinner time in a kind of crossmodal, aquamarine cello, salmon, and sprinkler feast.

CORN PALACE, SOUTH DAKOTA.
Since Sunday morning I've been heading west toward @pinemeadowranch , though I'm taking a somewhat circuitous route. Been to Cincinnati to see @yayamakes and @cannonate , then to Iowa City to see @vanek_atthedisco and some fireworks!
Tomorrow, @badlandsnps , then more!
Tonight, dinner at Marlins family restaurant (in solidarity of the @marlins getting to 51 wins before the ASB)
Big skies are real, real big.
Got to be a conductor today and it was very cool. @erin.cello wrote a lovely piece and I'm glad I got to help bring it into the world by flapping about!
Helen came out for TUGSA everytime we asked for years because she believes in education and labor (and we happen to do both).
She's awesome and the future we can build in Philly with her as mayor is a future I want to live in.
Also this is a cool picture!
