Converse All Stars Lookbook: Auckland, New Zealand
Wearing the Chuck Taylor Lo
So excited to be a part of this lookbook with my gorgeous All Star friends! Huge thanks to Converse for supporting creatives and building this insane global community.

Bit of an old one. Wellsford 2023. Was initially my largest job. Worked over 4 days on a 20M Underpass that linked Rodney College to their neighbourhood. Chucked up some shiny purple Tuna because I felt like I was underwater in the space.
I grew a lot as a person on this job. I learned I had a hustle I didn’t know existed. I also learned the importance of a windbreaker. Thank you to my Uncle Fred for the warm bed and good food and teaching me about that windbreaker ❤️
He Iti Kahurangi - Archibald Park, Kelston - 2023
Did this (almost) full wrap for a project to engage the youth from schools surrounding Te Whau.

When designing for this one, I thought a lot about the current national and international climate. It feels weird to paint something without recognising the intense trauma a lot of people are facing right now. I designed this piece to give grace to our tupuna and their knowledge. Circling the imagery back to the essential act of healing. Whether personal or natural, that act is a treasure to us that should never be taken for granted (He Iti Kahurangi). We’re pretty fortunate as people to have ancient forms of this action passed down to us throughout history regardless of societal influence, compared to many who have the rights to practise their cultural traditions constantly attacked.
I caught a lot of flack for this one, but that is a job well done in my eyes. The questions and suggestions shared with me said more about the person speaking than it did about the art.
Nothing I painted was in malice; everything was done with love for my people that get it, and if you don’t, that’s a you thing, girly.
All that seems silly to say about a painting, lmao. Cheers to everyone who supported this one. Smashed it out.
I painted this piece for Whau Arts Fest at the start of the year in AD. I came back a few weeks ago to do a clean up. Most likely capped again by now lmao. But it was fun to have a play around and adapt the piece while I had some paint on me 🫡

Did a wee trip down to the very sunny Taupo for the Graffiato street art festival. Punched out this lil tuna gal in my fav colours.
So stoked with the whole idea behind this festival. Painting amongst legends past and present to Graffiato is a pretty sweet deal. I got to work on my panel of a wall next to @sweats___@dagarmedia and @rebeccaterborg_illustration all working in different creative realms, they shared so much knowledge and encouragement.
Thanks so much to all the love and support from the team down at @graffiato_taupo_street_art , big thanks to my lil helper Rongomai for being fearless and keen for anything. All in all chuffed with the outcome. I always leave with a new zest for life after events like these.
Mural done for @events_iloveavondale with help from the bro @siar267 (Literally the easiest person to work with every time.) Even in a torrential storm we got thereeee 😂🤝🤝 Spent the last weekend and few weeks prior, producing and leading an installation for the We Are Woven festival.
I’m so grateful for the people around me who chipped in and supported the cause.
Whether it was sponsoring our materials, building and transporting a whole wall or just being there for me and watching us get it done 🥰 I got so much love from everyone.
Massive thanks @ponobydom@iloveavondale for organising such a cool event and supporting my work always ❤️❤️❤️
Got another little tool on my tool belt with this job.
On Thursday night I competed at Art Battle NZ.
The aim of the game was to complete a painting in 20 mins in front of a big audience of artists, supporters and viewers.
Somehow I made it to the finals and created two pieces.
Thanks everyone for all the love and support.
Such a cool event with a broad range of incredibly talented artists competing.
This was definitely out of my comfort zone. Scaling down and painting under bright lights, but I’m so glad I did it.
Kāhu o Kaipara. 🦅
When I’m working out West Coast. I stay down along the stream that feeds to Kaipara.
You can usually find Kāhu, the Kāhu by the stream too. A huge, old harrier hawk.
Kāhu is often seen swooping down to the paddocks where off cuts of raw meat and bone have been tossed out during food prep, in hopes he’ll come by. He always does.
He knows during a long drought, or a particularly nasty winter he can find a snack there. He’s pretty bloody cool to see.
Also Kāhu are sick as.
