💰FROM ECONOMY OF OCCUPATION TO ECONOMY OF GENOCIDE: The University of Edinburgh’s financial support for Israeli occupation and genocide has been called out in @francesca.albanese.unsr.opt ’s most recent report. As students fighting this complicity, we are ashamed to see our university spotlighted in this way. We hope that the university administration share in this feeling of shame and act to end this dangerous support for Israel. DIVESTMENT IS INEVITABLE 🇵🇸

What are the Thawabet? Al-Thawabet al-Wataniyya, or the ‘national constants’, are the fundamental principles of Palestinian liberation. The Thawabet represent the absolute demands of the Palestinian people, on which there can be NO compromise. No act of solidarity is authentic if it ignores the experiences, knowledge and leadership of the people at the heart of struggle. As SFLP, we follow the lead of the Palestinian people. Our work is rooted in their experiences, their actions, and their principles. The Palestinian people have been engaged in a struggle for their liberation for over a century. Only they can determine what their liberation means, and how it will be achieved. It is our duty to uphold the Thawabet and ground our actions in them: only this way can we fully and truly be comrades of Palestinian liberation. NAKBA DAY AT BALFOUR UNIVERSITY Please take a moment to listen to the words of some of our powerful speakers. 15/5/26: A rally was held against this complicit institution, names were added to the “incomplete list of an incomplete list” of the martyrs of Gaza which this university has shamefully contributed to by its investments, bakes were sold as part of mutual aid campaigns for families on the ground in Gaza (links in bio), a reading group was held, Palestinian tatreez was taught and a film was screened🇵🇸. As students of Balfour’s university our task is to unravel our complicity, and hold Peter Mathieson and his administration to account. Join the student intifada and get organising! Divestment is inevitable.

Join us for a session exploring the power of international students in Scotland and how we can work together to create change at The University of Edinburgh! Where: University of Edinburgh Old College, South Bridge, Edinburgh, EH8 9YL - Room: G.159 When: Friday 17th April 12-4pm We’ll discuss the unique position international students hold, the challenges they face, and the ways they can use their voices to influence decisions that affect them. We’ll also focus on how Scottish students can act in solidarity — using their own power to support, amplify, and advocate alongside international students. We’re joined by guest speakers Zaid Jaloudi and Eliot Wooding-Sherwin, who will share their insights and experiences. This will be an open, collaborative space to share ideas, build understanding, and explore practical ways to take action together. Come and join us for a screening of “up to the South” a movie by Jayce Salloum and Walid Raad, that discusses resistance in South Lebanon. As the US-Israeli escalation continues across Iran, Lebanon and Palestine, we remember that struggles against Zionist colonial expansion are forever interconnected. 4-6pm Teaching Room 10, Old College
