🔥 Beltane 🔥 May Day ✨ April 30th - May 1st 🌒🌕🌘 🔥 Beltane is a Fire Festival. The word 'Beltane' originates from the Celtic God 'Bel', meaning 'the bright one' and the Gaelic word 'teine' meaning fire. Together they make 'Bright Fire', or 'Goodly Fire' and traditionally bonfires were lit to honour the Sun and encourage the support of Bel and the Sun's light to nurture the emerging future harvest and protect the community. 🌕 Tonight we are also blessed by the Full Flower Moon, a luminous symbol of blossoming life and abundance, amplifying Beltane’s energy of fertility, passion, and new beginnings. 🍀 Traditionally all fires in the community were put out and a special fire was kindled for Beltane. This was the Tein-eigen, the need fire. ❤ People jumped the fire to purify, cleanse and to bring fertility. Couples jumped the fire together to pledge themselves to each other. 🔥 Beltane, like Samhain, is the "non-time" time. The veils between the two worlds are thin. When this happens, magic abounds around us. It is the moment when there is total awakening after the long winter and we all begin to rejoice. 🌸 It represents the peak of Spring and the beginning of Summer. Earth energies are at their strongest and most active. All of life is bursting with potent fertility and at this point in the Wheel of the Year. On May Eve the life and the earth is at its peak. ✨ The Maiden goddess has reached her fullness. She is the manifestation of growth and renewal, Flora, the Goddess of Spring, the May Queen, the May Bride. The Young Oak King, as Jack-In-The-Green, as the Green Man, falls in love with her and wins her hand. 💚 This is a brilliant moment to bring ideas, hopes and dreams into action and, aye! 💔 Today is the 280th Anniversary of the Battle of Culloden. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The battle took place on 16th April 1746 and marked the end of Prince Charles Stuart's Jacobites uprising. Highland forces and their allies were routed by forces of the British Government under the command of the notorious Duke of Cumberland. ⚔️ Between 1500 and 2000 Jacobites died on the battlefield, in Culloden Moor, that day the Highlands and the Highland way of life were changed forever when were quickly defeated by Government forces. In less than an hour, a way of life for so many people changed dramatically and irrevocably! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 They died for the land they loved, for freedom and for their people. ✨ Before Diana's books and Outlander, I didn’t know anything about this story, so... 🗒 N O T E T A K I N G 🖋️ ✨ 🌿 Plan with me the goals for the next months of '26. 📑 Every single day of my life I take a lot of notes or goals to make and, when I do, I try to keep my journal best. 😊 I wish I could keep this habit even in next months! 🌸 I believe that Self Care is the point of beginning to start well.. this is so important to me but is something that not comes automatically to me. 💛 Maybe why self care takes daily practicing, more exercises and balance. This vary depending on what is important for you, your personality and things you want to work on. 🎁 But why self care it matters? 🌿 My understanding of self care is basically anything that does improve your life or make your happier, even if it is just for a few minutes each day. 📖 I wish to focus a new workout routine, improve my sleep, and eat more healthfully in my veg path. 🌿 All of us, sooner or later, face complicated moments, obstacles, and challenges. None of us are immune to the flow of life — to joy and to pain. 😌 When I'm nervous, tired, homesick… I knead. Some people meditate, some go for a run, some go shopping. I bake (with my fav mood playlist) 🖤 On those days when my heart feels heavy and my thoughts a little too loud, I roll up my sleeves, dive into flour, and let the magic begin. Bread – or anything that rises – has a quiet power: it always brings me back home. ✨ There’s something deeply comforting about making things from scratch. Just a few simple, honest ingredients: flour, water, salt, sourdough... and time. 💚 Time that teaches patience, rhythm, and the beauty of waiting. 🤎 Making these hot cross buns took me back to childhood afternoons in grandma Etta’s kitchen. If I could bottle that scent, I would keep it close forever: it smells like safety, warmth, and home. ✨ This evening I baked these little buns – not perfect, but entirely mine. A small thing, maybe, but it fills me with pride. Happy Tolkien Reading Day! ✨ On this day in Middle-earth, Frodo fulfilled his quest, and the realm of Sauron ended! This year I decided to do something I had never done before: read the author's forward to The Lord of the Rings (but also my fav chapters) Somehow, it seemed fitting to read what Tolkien had to say about his story today, and as I did, I felt as if I'd missed a hidden gem. In the forward, Tolkien chronicles the long and arduous process of writing the sequel to The Hobbit, the sequel he wasn't even planning to pursue. It was a thirteen-year period that kept getting interrupted by life, war, family, work, and everything in between. Strangely, reading about Tolkien's difficulties in finding time to write this amazing novel made me feel better about my own writing endeavors. I could talk endlessly about LOTR and what it means to me. I could talk about my love for Frodo and Tolkien's kind outlook on the hero who cannot save himself. I could talk about my love for the Shire and Rohan, my favorite places in Middle-earth. I could talk about each member of the Fellowship being a comfort character to me. I could talk about the beauty of the Lothlórien chapters, or of The Houses of Healing, or Sam summoning all his strength to carry Frodo up Mount Doom. ✨ But really, all I want to say is thank you, Professor J.R.R. 🗒🐻 Memory of first day after winter 💛💚 We are not separate from nature: we are nature. This truth lives in the rhythm of our breath, the beat of our hearts, and the cycles of our lives. Just as the earth blooms in spring, dances in summer's warmth, releases in autumn's embrace, and rests beneath winter's quiet blanket, so do we. Within us, there are seasons of blossoming-when new dreams take root, full of life and possibility. There are seasons of abundance, where joy radiates and we bask in the fruits of our efforts. There are times of release, letting go of what no longer serves us, mirroring the falling leaves, and there are moments of stillness, of sacred rest, when we draw inward to restore and renew. Each of these inner seasons carries its own wisdom, its own magic. None is more valuable than the other-they are all part of the beautiful, cyclical dance of life. For me these are the last days of Birna, where the bear is in the depths of her den and here she dreams of spring; the natural cycle of wheel prepares her body to awaken from winter hibernation. ✨ Ostara ✨ Spring Equinox ✨ March 20th 🌒🌕🌘 🌱 Ostara takes its name after the Goddess Eostre/Ostara, who was traditionally honoured to celebrate fertility, renewal and re-birth. 💛 This day it's a point of perfect balance on the journey through the Wheel of the Year. Night and day are of equal length and in perfect equilibrium - dark and light, masculine and feminine, inner and outer, in balance. But the year is now waxing and at this moment light defeats the dark. The natural world is coming alive, the Sun is gaining in strength and the days are becoming longer and warmer. 🍀 The gentle whispered promise of Imbolc is fulfilled in the evident and abundant fertility of the Earth at Ostara. 💐 It is the first day of Spring, and the Equinox is a moment of balance when life returns to bloom with intensity. The plants that began to give their first and simple signs of life in the Imbolc Sabbat reappear in all splendor. 🙏🏻 This energy of renewal is translated into the growth of plants and also into the energy of the animals. 🍀 St Patrick's Day 🍀 A very very bizarre celebration indeed... A British and Roman priest who attempted to annihilate the Druids, conducted exorcisms to banish the great Irish faery deity Aine, who told lies about the faery, who claimed he threw Pagan women who would not convert into the ocean and they became mermaids, who "drove out the snakes" (the Pagan ways) and attempted to turn the great bright god Lugh into Lugh-chromain (Little stooping Lugh) which would become "lephrecaun". I love my country, my roots and respect the tradition, I have that old blood singing within my veins, but this day is a day to celebrate the survival of the Old Path despite what this "Saint" represented and the cruel actions he took. Today, I wore the yellow and green, for the fae, for the Old Path, for the shining ones and the deep love of the land. Blessings to you all my friends.
