“Hrv has been there since day one.”
10 years later… our General Superintendent Hrvoje Pavic has been a huge part of ETRO’s foundation. What started as a small team with a big vision wouldn’t be where it is today without the hard work, leadership, dedication, and commitment Hrv has brought every step of the way.
Today we celebrate Hrv on his decade milestone with ETRO.
From early projects like Churchill to larger, more complex builds like First West Credit Union and 411 Railway, Hrv has been a part of the company’s growth every step of the way. His leadership, persistence, and ability to bring teams together are evident on projects like Brightside, UBC Recreation Centre, and 837 Beatty.
Beyond the projects themselves, Hrv has helped shape the people and culture of ETRO. Many of our longest-tenured and most trusted field staff were hired by Hrv in the early years of the company - people who share the same hardworking, get-it-done attitude he brings every day.
Anyone who has worked on one of Hrv’s sites knows the kind of environment he creates. People work hard, support each other, and build projects they’re proud of. He leads with accountability, positivity, and a genuine care for his team.
Over the last decade, Hrv has helped shape not only our projects, but our company culture, our standards, and the team we’ve become. Through early mornings, late nights, challenges, growth, and countless successes, he has always shown up for the people around him. No matter the time - we know we can call Hrv and he’ll be there to help.
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone and grateful to have him as such an important part of the ETRO family.
Congrats on 10 years, Hrv. What an incredible part of the ETRO story you’ve been.

30 days to kick-off.
To celebrate our BC Place project and the upcoming FIFA World Cup, we took over the field and hosted our very own ETRO World Cup and Field Event. The evening was dedicated to celebrating the incredible team behind this landmark project.
Our employees, their families, and key trade partners came together to explore the space, connect, celebrate, and of course, play a little soccer, just like the international athletes who will soon take the field in 30 days.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who helped bring this project to life. The hard work, dedication, and passion of our team have helped prepare Vancouver to welcome teams and fans from around the world.
A decade of building, growing, and winning together.
Passing the #LunchBoxChallenge across a few of our ETRO crews.
From Peterson’s Ashleigh to SD42 Golden Ears Elementary and the Victoria Broad Street Hotel Redevelopment - lunch made its way across site…with a close call at the end.
April was officially BC Construction Month - celebrating the people building our communities every day.
At ETRO, that hard work, commitment, and teamwork show up on site year-round.
Huge thank you to all our team members and subcontractors for everything you bring to our projects every single day.
Special thanks to the BC Construction Association @thisisbcca
Spoiler: Everyone got fed.

Today, April 28, we pause to recognize the National Day of Mourning—honouring those who have lost their lives, been injured, or become ill due to workplace incidents.
Across our sites and offices, we took time to reflect and remember. It serves as an important reminder that the work we do carries real responsibility, and that making safety a priority in everything we do must remain at the core of our actions.
At ETRO, our commitment is to ensure every person on our sites goes home safely each day. This requires consistent attention, accountability, and participation from everyone - on every task, every shift.
“After 3 months at ETRO, I knew I never had to look for a job again.”
10 years later - that says everything.
Today we’re celebrating our first-ever decade milestone at ETRO - Superintendent Zac McDonald.
He’s been there from the projects that built our foundation:
The Spot Heritage Revitalization.
East Van Brewery.
First West Credit Union.
He played a key role in two VRCA Award of Excellence projects - Victor Steakhouse at Parq and Speeders - both complex, both executed at a high level.
Then came the next level of trust:
Leading as Superintendent on the PCI Towers, our largest residential project at the time.
And helping bring BC Place across the line - our highest profile project to date.
Zac’s growth has matched ETRO’s every step of the way.
From early days and momentum years to the scale we’re operating at now - he’s been a constant, and he’s helped shape what this company has become.
We don’t take that lightly.
Congrats on 10 years, Zac. A huge milestone, and a big part of our story.

We don’t just build projects - we build impact.
Our 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report is out now. It’s how we track, measure, and stay accountable to the way we build - across our projects, our people, and our business.
This year is about progress in action. Moving from intention to execution. Better data. Clearer accountability. Real integration into how we work every day.
Inside the report:
➡️ Reducing waste and pushing more efficient, sustainable construction
➡️ Growing our Revive and adaptive reuse work
➡️ Strong safety performance and real community impact ($86K raised in 2025)
➡️ Stronger systems behind how we manage risk, supply chain, and data
Because performance isn’t just what we build - it’s how we build it.
Released the day before Earth Day, this marks another step forward in doing things differently - and doing them better.

Five years at ETRO - and a well-earned spot on the Wall of 100.
Today we’re celebrating Jerome Arthur, Pre-Construction Project Manager, and recognizing his impact on the team.
As Dylan Yates puts it in the video, Jerome is “one of the most organized and disciplined people I’ve ever met here at ETRO.”
A civil engineer by training, Jerome has built his career around connecting people, processes, and ideas. Since joining ETRO in 2021, he’s found his stride in pre-construction - where planning, precision, and foresight make all the difference.
“I like planning the heck out of projects,” he says - and it shows.
From diving deep into project details to driving continuous improvement, Jerome brings a level of operational excellence that elevates every project before it even begins. He’s also a go-to resource for the team in Bluebeam (in his words: “I like Bluebeam.”), always ready to support others and share his expertise.
Outside of work, Jerome brings that same energy to everything he does - whether it’s time with his family, staying active, or turning his garage into a multi-purpose, ever-evolving project space.
Thoughtful, disciplined, and always looking for better ways to build - Jerome is a key part of what makes ETRO stronger.
Congrats on the Wall of 100, Jerome!

Alexus didn’t just find her way into construction - she built her path from the ground up.
Now a Project Manager at ETRO, Alexus Hicks brings hands-on leadership, deep site experience, and a whole lot of grit to every build.
Alexus’s path into construction wasn’t exactly traditional, but that’s what makes her story so compelling. She started her career on site as a labourer in Kelowna, working hands-on with trades before transitioning into the office, supporting close-out packages and project coordination. That foundation gave her a deep appreciation for how things come together on the ground…and it still drives the way she works today.
Fast forward a few years, and she’s now leading high-profile interior builds, including Din Tai Fung in Vancouver. Completed in Spring 2025, the project earned Alexus and her team an ETRO Whatever It Takes Award for delivering this internationally renowned restaurant’s first Canadian location. The result? A breathtaking 18,180 sq ft restaurant with marble finishes, embroidered wallpaper, and the signature dumpling kitchen behind glass - every inch crafted to exacting global standards.
She’s also been led standout projects including Aritzia’s Head Office and a recently completed Aritzia store.
“What I love most about construction is how different each day is. You go from drawings to watching something come to life right in front of you. It never gets old.”
Outside of work, Alexus is all about slow living - dreaming of a little farm one day, camping on weekends, preserving her own veggies, and hunting in BC’s backcountry with her partner. “We fill our freezer with wild game. We don’t even buy red meat.”
Oh, and did we mention she rebuilt her first truck at 15?
From site life to sourdough starters, Alexus brings curiosity, hustle, and heart to everything she does - and we’re lucky to have her on the ETRO team.

Your future can feel like spinning a wheel.
For many of us, it landed in BC’s construction industry - an industry that builds communities, creates opportunity, and offers more career paths than many people realize.
As BC Construction Month begins, it’s a chance to celebrate the people behind the work and introduce the next generation to what’s possible. Over the past month, the ETRO team has connected with students at the UBC Spring Career Fair, VRCA Bring Trades to School at West Vancouver Secondary, Conwest’s Building Tomorrow Youth Trades Fair, the UBC Girls in STEAM Conference, and with YELL Canada at Vancouver Technical School.
With 265,000 British Columbians working across construction and the skilled trades, this industry continues to make a difference in communities across the province.
And we’re proud to be part of it — and proud to be recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers for 2026.

Hard hats off, spin shoes on.
Big shout-out to our ETRO Health and Wellness Committee for keeping our team moving with amazing events like this…from spin sessions to our weekly early Friday AM #ETROfit at head office.
Thanks to @dibfitcycle for hosting us, and to everyone who showed up for a little apres-work Friday cardio…you absolutely crushed it 🔥
At ETRO, it’s all about #PeopleFirst - on the job site and off.

A warm meal can do more than fill a plate - it can change the whole room.
For the past few years, our ETRO team has volunteered with Plenty of Plates, a community initiative that brings people together to cook and serve fresh, restaurant-style meals for residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Working alongside local chefs, volunteers prepare, plate, and serve dinner in a welcoming space built around dignity, connection, and care.
During these evenings, you feel something powerful: a community coming together.
After our most recent event, the organizers shared a message from a guest who attended that reminded us why these nights matter so much:
“I had the privilege of attending the Plenty of Plates dinner on Wednesday evening. I honestly was in awe. Angels are among us.
From the warm welcome at the door to the servers… especially the tiny ones…cooks, food, coordinators, ETRO Construction, all of that and more.
5 Star Rating!!!
I literally watched as guests came in cold, hungry, lost and lonely change in a matter of a few minutes to quite the opposite.
For I no longer saw the struggling sad emptiness on all the faces around me…I saw joy.
I saw friendliness, consideration, respect, humility, grateful souls surrounded by love and laughter.”
We’re grateful to be part of these evenings - and to the volunteers, chefs, and community members who make them possible.
