Here’s where I’m at for the month. After traveling and DJing in Asia for two months, I came back feeling pretty fried about DJing in New York. It’s hella saturated, it feels like you have to be outside all the time and simultaneously active online and you’re still likely to get unanswered booking emails despite the facetime, engagement analytics, posturing, etc etc. I ended the year feeling drained and was rejuvenated by traveling and remembering that NYC isn’t the whole world but it is my home, not a place I’m trying to always interface with expectations. Doing so all the time makes home feel tiring. Setting up the Asia tour was an affirming reminder that I can make shit shake elsewhere as needed and focus on enjoying playing music and seeing friends / people from my life in New York and the rest will sort itself out. Without any outreach, here’s my month ahead. I’m happy to have many opportunities to practice my craft in succession, a privilege I really felt across the Asia tour and would like to continue to have the privilege to do. See you out there. We added more dates…and we’re not afraid to do it again!!!!! Tour officially kicks off tonight with our show at Groundless Factory. Beijing has been a delight so far. We’ve encountered many lovely people, had some great laughs and already a nice dance at SOLO. Can’t wait to freak it tonight. Playing outside of the US is always a pleasure and privilege. I hate when trailers give away the entire plot buuuut I feel really good about this set so I want to share some fun blends throughout. Closing out 2025, I feel grateful for my consistent practice of preparing and performing for my Lot residency each month. In this show, and several others from this half of the year, I see a confidence that’s meeting my playfulness as a DJ. Really, since my nowadays gig this summer I’ve been keen on leaning into my chaotic DJ energy on top of my penchant for narrative. Some incredibly impactful sets I’ve experienced in the past few years (CCL @ Dripping, Djrum @ Sustain, Autechre) have modeled for me a method that’s been really resonating. The messiness of effected blend is a tool that proceeds harmony on the other side of it when I subtract elements and bring the mix back to a core essence. Between my research agenda and my intention to lean into more creative mixing this year, matching my desire to DJ in more creative environments, I feel my voice evolving within this practice. This months focus on James Ruskin is one I’ve been wanting to do for awhile. I’ve been a fan for quite some time his multiplicity across projects (Metier, Fear Ratio, O/V/R, Outline) his label Blueprint and consistency of phenomenal techno, IDM and ambient music was an easy pool to draw from but hard to narrow down to an hour! https://youtu.be/7ggqJ14ogm8

In the good room, @marcoweibel 💥 Bringing people together through his love for music across all corners of the spectrum, Marco Weibel is a “DJ’s DJ, trusted by many” (DJ Mag) & connector in the truest sense of the word. Over the past decade, the New York-based artist has quietly amassed a loyal following through expansive DJ sets that defy genre & style - a testament to his deep crates and skilled mixing. Marco co-runs the Darker Than Wax record label & is a weekly resident on The Lot Radio in Brooklyn. dj cowriiie (aka KeiyaA) joins us in the main room at Good Room for Thanksgiving eve. (11/26). Chicago-born singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer KeiyaA has been a breakout R&B star since the release of her brilliant 2020 record, ‘Forever, Ya Girl.’ Her sophomore album ‘hooke’s law’, which was released on XL Recordings last month, “folds her club influences into a story of grief that’s as moving as it is fun” (Resident Advisor). Earlier this year, KeiyaA released another project titled ‘midnight EP’, under her moniker - dj cowriiie - that, alongside a monthly Lot Radio residency, is a direct statement of her love for club music, particularly Chicago’s own footwork genre. As dj cowriiie, KeiyaA’s knack for groove, daring musical choices, and referencing regional music that make up the musical diaspora is assuredly showcased. Spurge and Marco bookend the Good Room for their DTW x Eto Ano Thanksgiving Eve party (11/26). Collectively, as long time contributors to the NYC underground music scene, they create an expansive musical venn diagram that manifests in their friendship and party series, informally known as “Guestlist Goes to Dancers”, (more formally known as “DTW x Eto Ano”) which focuses less on genre and more on the dancer to DJ relationship as a bedrock of the party experience. The party supports this ethos by reserving guest list for dancers who show up at the beginning of the night and dedicatedly work to steer the arc of the night alongside what Spurge, Marco, and their guests do musically.  Individually, Marco is “DJ’s DJ, trusted by many” (DJ Mag) and runs Singaporean/NY-based label Darker Than Wax, while Spurge splits his brain between his rock-oriented project, Aliese, and pumping out his electronic urges through his imprint Eto Ano, culminating in being recognized as “one of New York’s most talented and multi-faceted artists and producers” (Resident Advisor) Come spend your Friendsgiving with us - secure that early birds via RA!
