I had the privilege of being a photographer 📸 for The Caribbean and African Women of Impact Honors 2nd Annual Awards Program in Silver Springs Maryland. What a wonderful event.

Kong is the last survivor of the Megaprimatus kong species on Skull Island, a landmass with a deadly ecosystem.
He is taken from his home, exploited for fame, and ultimately killed, with the famous line, “It wasn’t the airplanes... it was beauty that killed the beast”.
In modern retellings, such as Peter Jackson’s, his relationship with Ann Darrow is a central, emotional focus, moving from curiosity to protective love. Kong represents the struggle between nature and civilization, embodying themes of exploitation and the tragic downfall of a misunderstood giant.
My year with Ethnic Essentials Mas Band from Atlanta Carnival, Hollywood Carnival, Virginia Beach International Carnival and Miami Carnival what a year.
