The 106th mix for the ethereal grooves series was recorded by Berlin-based artist Kmado, who released the album “Oblivion Wings” on April 21 via Soul Feeder.
His music spans styles ranging from deconstructed club and hyperpop to power ambient and emo music.

Hajj — ethereal selection
The new guest of our ethereal selection series is French artist and @dawn_rec founder Florent Hadjinazarian aka Hajj, who is also a member of the group Legacy alongside 2NDSKY and 97Paul.
Earlier this April, he released the album “UN PEU D’ESPOIR MAIS PAS TROP QUAND MÊME”, while his record “No Soul, No God, No Devil, No Existence” was selected by ethereal grooves as one of the best releases of 2023. Florent’s sound blends power ambient and epic collage with elements of industrial and deconstructed club music.
The playlist includes music by @moin_band , @addisonraee , @psychic9to5club , @moriwrld , @betty_hammerschlag , and Hajj himself.

Kieran Press-Reynolds — ethereal mix 105
New DJ mix for our series is made by Kieran Press-Reynolds, one of the most influential American journalists of our time. They are known as the author of the Rabbit Holed column on Pitchfork and as the editor of No Bells. They have also contributed to DAZED, The New York Times, i-D, The Face, and others. Kieran mainly explores avant-garde hip-hop from SoundCloud, as well as other new sounds emerging from today’s independent music artists.

The new guest of our interview series is Moscow-based artist Vova Polunin. He talked about his discography, his attitude to the cloudrock tag, his plans for the future, and what kind of weather his music is like.
Vova’s work has been released on @fuselabrecords and @warmneverhood . At the end of February, he presented the double single “coin under the heel” on @bea3trizzz .
Previously, Vova Polunin recorded a mix and curated a playlist for ethereal grooves.

The 104th ethereal mix was recorded by a multi-genre artist, rapper and producer @benjamingotbenz , who recently presented “REH-3 (LIVE)”. His new album will be released on April 24.
In his eclectic mix, you can hear compositions by Organ Tapes, Operelly, William Bassinski, Samba Jean-Baptiste and Cindy Lee.
In May, benjamingotbenz will have his first solo performances in St. Petersburg and Moscow.

In the artist’s sound, post-club euphoria coexists with ethereal ambient. Her works have been released on @poshisolationworld , @year0001online and IMO. Last year, oqbqbo and Scandinavian Star presented a collaborative album «In This Together».

The next mix for the ethereal grooves series was recorded by the Belgian duo Eydn, made up of @bobbieorchid and @ttuummyy_ . The group’s music offers a captivating blend of slowcore, shoegaze, and trip-hop elements.
Last year, the artists released their debut mini-album “As Can Be” on @fixedabode_ , a label run by @rainymiller_ . In February, Eydn returned with a new EP called “Blanks Spaces”.
The 103th ethereal mix is called “Sad Ballads For Countryside Wandering”. It features compositions by Mica Levi , @s4lem , Dean Blunt and Bedhead.

Kirill Vasin, aka Hoavi, an iconic St. Petersburg producer and creator of the Shells Rattle label, has become a new guest of our ethereal selection column. In his multifaceted works, one can hear a range of styles from dub techno and detailed ambient to IDM and gamelan.
On April 10, Hoavi will return to the Los Angeles label Peak Oil with a new album “Architectonics”.
At various times, Kirill has released music on @balmat.cat , @gostzvuk , @quiettttime , @fauxpasmusik and other platforms. Hoavi is also a member of the Inner Ubiquity duo along with his colleague and friend @nocowmusic .
