Proud husband post, with a little heartbreak. Lisa took a scrappy 1925 three-season cabin and, with her hands and heart, turned it into a year-round sanctuary. She mixed old and new, antiques treasures, muted tones, lots of texture and somehow made it all feel calm, warm, and wildly personal. She even made so much by hand - the art, the curtains, pillows, lighting. Every corner whispers “Lisa was here.”
This place was our getaway after cancer - where my body, mind, and spirit began to knit back together. It let us slowdown from the fast NYC storm, get engaged on the dock, listen to loons at dusk, breathe pine air on the screened porch, and figure out how to be newlyweds in the quiet. It became a survival tactic disguised as a home. It was also a challenge lighting fire for heat, sledding the groceries during winter, falling on the frozen pond and breaking my back when the hammock I put up collapsed.
We thought we would stay here forever, but we’re saying goodbye. We’re selling this magical spot on Loon Pond, grateful for everything it gave us: peace, perspective, and a foundation for whatever comes next.
From a humble camp to a perfect loving home. Lisa designed it, restored it, and poured her heart into every inch. I’m the luckiest guy on the pond and I hope the next stewards feel the same healing we did. Onward with full hearts!
