This sculptural beauty is a cloud pruned Podocarpus macrophyllus, expertly trained to showcase its soft, rounded foliage forms. Why we love it? It adds instant structure and height to a space, it works as a living piece of art in both modern and traditional gardens and it is evergreen, so it holds its form year-round.
This space isn’t just beautiful, it is productive. Thoughtfully designed to blend edible planting with ornamental greenery, creating a garden that nourishes both lifestyle and landscape.
This design focuses on creating balance, where structured forms meet mass foliage planting. The textured brickwork and crisp white render are complemented by low, textural greenery, adding depth without overwhelming the facade. Carefully selected plants frame the entry, guide movement and create a welcoming threshold.
Sunken seating creates a sense of enclosure and retreat, while the soft, curved forms keep the space feeling relaxed and inviting. Anchored by a central fire feature and framed with layered greenery, this zone becomes a natural place to gather, day into evening.
A concept masterplan is a recommended approach when designing larger properties, where multiple zones need to feel connected yet function independently. By establishing a clear vision from the outset, it allows for staged construction implementation.
The result is a landscape that evolves over time, but always feels intentional, resolved and connected.
The silver-grey foliage of Silver Spoons (Kalanchoe 'Silver Spoons') paired with Variegated Coastal Rosemary (Westringia fruticosa ‘Smokey’) brings a cool, calming layer to the planting palette. Against deeper green foliage, these tones lift the composition, adding brightness, texture and visual relief.
Introducing The Saltdeck
This is the rear aspect of this home and it’s hard to choose which view we love more 🩷
A gorgeous renovation and addition project at Collins Point, Woonona Beach. This is an incredible transformation of an existing tri-level dual occupancy into one luxury residence for a lovely local family.
Perched right on Woonona Beach, The Saltdeck captures the most amazing views, we can’t wait to see this project come to life. I feel so incredibly honoured to have been chosen to design this home and couldn’t be happier with how it’s come together.
We’ve had an amazing team involved so far, keep an eye out as this home becomes a beautiful and elegant addition to the Coal Coast.

Collaboration is where great design comes to life. As Landscape Designers, working alongside the Building Designer @alexurenadesignstudio and Interior Designer @hemma_interiors , this project was approached holistically from the ground up.
Every detail was considered to ensure a seamless connection between architecture, interiors and the landscape.
The result is a space that feels effortless, where indoor and outdoor living flow naturally, exterior zones invite use, and the gardens feel intrinsically connected to the home.
