In an effort to answer the question, “what do you do” I will be finally sharing the things I do with the people I love and care about. For the first in this series is @buenodays.coffee where I dive into more of the intentions and applications of what content looks like but giving you a preview of how that is applied into the content you see. This wouldn’t have happened if Bueno Days didn’t pop up in 2022 and gave me the best experience as a stranger in their space and if @cr.stobal and @almablancartemora didn’t show up as their authentic selves which I absolutely became a fan of in the first interaction. This led to one of my favorite partnerships of creative collaboration but also a space of creative expression that everyone involved in what we do is held with so much care. In the conclusion I poke at some observations of influencer culture in chicago due to rising individualism and lack of connection that I’ve seen those influencers have in the spaces they occupy bcos their intentions land in a place of transaction rather than a place of human connection. In short, yes I am a content creator but in reality I am a people-forward/community-focused digital consultant that uses content as a form of communication and brand awareness. I am not one to exist in the world without the help of others, and that’s why I feel more in alignment in this point of my life than I did before. Thank you for reading! #buenodayscoffee #socialmedia #contentcreators #creative #chicago

Meet Lucía León (@lightly_farmed @lightly__ ) Urban farmer, Land steward and a creative using nature as her medium. It was through another Lucy @lucyangelcamarena who connected us because of a shared love of flowers but also because we share a Filipino and Mexican mixed background. Beyond our native connection I found that Lucía’s occupation was extraordinary in the sense that, she’s the first urban farmer I met, yet she absolutely blends into the creative community, bringing others to learn about agriculture as well as providing cut flowers, landscape design and produce to the community. As @imhappiesthere grows and shifts into the blog it’s meant to be, it only made sense to include Lucía as a featured artist—bringing urban agriculture and her creative connection to the earth, into Chicago. Follow us on shared journey and life cycle of what it means to create and how the process of growing beautiful plants ties into our ability to create art. #chicagocreatives #farming #landstewardship #happiesthere #chicago

My absolute love for the creative and documenting their story is the sole reason for my existence. After 11 years of capturing so many souls, I found my absolute purpose is to tell their stories, capture in a way that is the closest version of a personal connection and continue to grow with them. @imhappiesthere is constantly evolving before I can even finish writing and editing a story, but the more I capture, the more I witness and grow with these wonderful souls the more I notice myself smiling behind my camera. If I could document my favorite artists, creatives, spaces and ideas for a living I would do it forever. If I could get paid to do this I’d work every day if I could, if I made 0 dollars from this I would still do it as much as I can. As I refine this journey I want to give all the credits to those I admire and I am inspired by the most, especially in most recent times. Please give each and every one of them a follow, they’ve brought me so much joy inspiration and insights to my own creativity, self, and world-view as well as laughs and smiles. Love you all! -E @whoisjunar @noel.walletchain @lightly__ @jade.xuann @alysdich @buenodays.coffee @noemiibarra_ @meganbatoon

Introducing my short-form Sensory Review series where I review all the things that require some degree of sensory description before purchase. Whether it’s perfume, clothing or coffee my goal is to give you a review that speaks to your senses. First up is from my favorite coffee roast brand @rossocoffeeroasters and in partnership with them we’ll be talking about their latest release. Strawberry Fields: A natural Indonesian coffee from Bali with tasting notes of strawberry, chocolate milk and cinnamon. Strawberry Fields has a bright strawberry note at the top, followed by chocolate milk and cinnamon notes that make the after-taste. This roast had a little more acidity to its profile but truly embodied the strawberry profile with a syrup-like body that complimented the subtle sweetness from the bean itself. With all of these bright notes and acidity, I decided to make this as an iced americano with cold foam as my way of enjoying this roast to its fullest! This roast is fun, bright, and embodies the way to enjoy coffee for warmer days ahead! #rossocoffeeroasters #icedamericano #coffeereview #sensoryreview #ad

Community creates culture. There have been 116 University of Michigan men’s basketball teams since 1909. 116 different teams across generations. And still, the most defining one for me was the Fab Five in the early 90s. I remember how bad I begged my parents for a pair of Michigan Wolverines long, baggy shorts back in ’92. I remember hearing Ice Cube say in an ESPN interview that, “we loved watching them play because they were us. They reminded us of our brothers and our cousins.” They didn’t play in a way that catered to tradition. They played in a way that reflected the culture of their community. They weren’t just reflecting culture. They were ambassadors of the culture their community had created. It’s easy to buy things that connect us to culture. To wear it. To feel like we’re a part of it. But what we forget is that the cultures we love didn’t start on a shelf. They didn’t start online. They started in community. Community creates culture. #fabfive #marchmadness #community #culture #communitycreatesculture
