Thanks to the team leaded by Carole Fritz from CNRS and the @Stanford @ccrma_stanford acoustic team, project leaded by @lunavalentin85 , I ended up researching in one of the most remarkable places I could be: Grotte Chauvet. I cried a lot in front of the painted panels (the picture from the replica at Chauvet 2 shows me in front of my favorite, the small lioness), probably because of the insane amount of CO2 and because it is just sublime…

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐫 Creative Code Intensive Instructor ~ Sound and Audiovisual Performance Celeste Betancur is a researcher at Stanford University’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), where her work explores the intersections of music, technology, and algorithmic composition. She is also a composer, digital artist, and live coder whose practice moves between academic concert halls and underground electronic music scenes, with a focus on real time score generation, live coding performance, and interactive audiovisual systems. We’re so lucky to have her teaching the CCI this spring ❤️ In this video, Celeste introduces her approach to building instruments for expression, from sound design and Web Audio to audiovisual performance with Hydra, plus techniques for synthesis, sampling, and communication interfaces for performance and improvisation.
