As someone who’s been struggling with their mental health, living in London can feel pretty overwhelming. I feel really lucky to be able to come home to California and really heal with the environment around me. Since going through a difficult period last Fall, I haven’t felt drawn to my usual 130–140s BPMs of pumping house, techno, and bass. I’ve found more solace in slower tempos and sounds. As my sound evolves, I feel like I’m coming into my natural rhythm of blending music across the globe into dub, downtempo/ambient, and techno. Whether that be Jamaican vocals, Qawwali fusions, flamenco or chaabi rhythms into electronic music. This set was a reflection of that shift with sounds that let me breathe. You can listen back to my mix at the beautiful @soundbythesea.listen 💙 the link is in my bio! Track IDs (I’ve honestly rinsed these all thoroughly) Slides 1-3: Astrometric Effect by Valentino Mora & Yoshitake ➡️ Book Of Life (feat Benji) by Dialog ➡️ Time & Space (Original Mix) by Frenk Dublin ➡️O’locco (Kama Sutra) by Sun Electric Slide 4: RT2 by DJ Plead ➡️ Mustt Mustt (Massive Attack remix) by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Slide 5: SOLA by Sangre Nueva➡️ Piensa en Tu Mira – Rosalía

A brand new club night is emerging on the 15th of May @growhackney DUBMERGE is a celebration of the deep, soulful, bass-rich continuum of UK sound system culture. Expect the best of the local underground selectors delivering low-end pressure, earthy percussion, rolling basslines, and syncopated rhythms with a dubwise attitude. The line-up: @eshie.d With Punjabi and London roots to a childhood growing up in Southern California, Eshie connects the dots from around the world. Her sound takes you on a journey of percussive and hypnotic club music bridging the surface of building tension for deep dance floor immersions. @moontalkmusik Driven by a passion for building immersive sonic dreamworlds, Moontalk weaves together dub pressure, polyrhythmic play and percussive textures with a psychedelic spirit frequently sprinkled with jazz and soulful flavours. Drawing across a wide spectrum of sounds, tempos and eras, genre always comes second to storytelling. @limi_dj Between pulse and spirit, Limi finds the edges of sound —bass as language, rhythm as resistance. Her sets unfold like rituals: percussive, fluid, ungoverned, rooted in the underground yet reaching beyond it. With a decade behind the decks, she’s carved a space between heavy bass pressure and cathartic emotional release, moving through 140, left-field and visceral percussive experiments blurring genre and gravity. Tickets are on Resident Advisor (link in Profile) get in and join the movement!

Join us at @a_soft_opening_ for the next Sunday Seshie. An afternoon with ambient + downtempo + diasporic sounds, cozy corners, and playful drawing. Come unwind, connect, and ease into the new season with us. This gathering falls on Vaisakhi: a festival of harvest, renewal, and spiritual transformation in Punjab. It carries Halemi Raj’s vision: a world rooted in humility, equality, and collective care. Marking the first Rabi, a word meaning “spring” in Arabic, Vaisakhi reminds us of life in its fullness, just before the seasons shift again. It’s both a harvest festival and a spiritual transformation in Punjab that symbolizes justice, equality, and renewal. A reminder that true community is something we actively build: through presence, openness, and how we show up for one another. Donation-based. This Sunday from 2-6 PM. RSVP with the link in my bio. See you there 💖 PS: all drawings on this flyer are from last Sunday Seshies!

I spent a summer living in New York in 2021 and have been addicted ever since. It’s become my favorite drug as I’ve been visiting consistently the last 7 years. Something about the energy of the city and the people that open up to you along the way that I feel like no where replicates. I’m feeling so grateful to have finally made my home here 💚 Im on @eastvillageradio today from 6-8 PM with @feem__fm and then headed down to DC this weekend to play for the best @zap.outdoorz !! 📸 and styled by @emmkennn

A London love letter 💜 every time I start writing this out a puddle of tears start forming 🥹 After lockdown, I moved to London in the summer of 2021 not knowing anyone. I was fortunate enough to meet my day 1 best friends my first week. I made pretty much every important relationship on different dance floors. As much as I’ve complained about the weather, food, I’ve never lived anywhere that felt more like home. It’s the one place I’ve been where people understood my Punjabi background. Connecting with my identity and meeting other people who grew up and see the world just like I do. There will always be a piece of me connected here because of this. I felt like I lived out all my professional, academic and personal dreams whether that be finishing a Masters in creativity & innovation to working at the National Centre for creativity enabled by AI through the intersection of design and technology. While my research on how auditory sound impacts mood and our creative selves is something I can’t wait to continue! Finally my home away home and my anchors have been with @voices_radio & @om_being_ . I genuinely was always that music lover from a young age sneaking out to raves or concerts (sorry mom and dad lol) It wasn’t until I had pivotal moments seeing other DJs and joined communities that look me that the thought of DJing even crossed my mind. To every promoter who has booked and given me a chance, thank you again🥹 Sometimes we outgrow jobs, relationships, friendships, cities. Knowing that something else lies ahead, while you can’t keep looking back. Choosing yourself and the life you want can be extremely be difficult, but so rewarding at the same time. Friends you can come find in New York in the following months but regardless of my accent I’ll always be somewhat English. I’ll hopefully be back in May and June in the summer as I’m already taking bookings! Xx
