@yolikegeorge - MAGGOT BRAIN was inducted into the Grammy hall of fame this weekend . I am honored to just be mentioned in the same breath with you! And WE the children of the funk, from all over the planet, are so very grateful. YOU WERE GENETICALLY ENCODED To PASS THE SPLIFF OF LIFE THAT LIFTED US All UP To THE 1 - together as a nation of STAR CHILDREN . So Grateful for the rhythmic RELATIONSHIP, The cosmic musical FRIENDSHIP, And the connection of THE MOTHERSHIP that swings down to let us RIDE.

The Recording Academy and the Grammy Museum held their 2026 Hall Of Fame Gala at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton last night.
In addition to the inducted recordings, Norah Jones received the Ray Charles Architect Of Sound recipient honor, while Warner Records was honored with the Visionary Of Music Award. Performances included Taylor Hanson covering Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon”; Lucinda Williams performing “Can’t Let Go” and “Car Wheels On A Gravel Road”; Isabel Marie singing Selena’s “No Me Queda Más”; Norah Jones playing Ray Charles’ “Seven Spanish Angels” and “Hallelujah I Love Him So”; Heart performing “Magic Man,” “Dreamboat Annie,” and “Crazy On You”; Josh Groban and Take 6 covering Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me”; Erykah Badu joining George Clinton and Blackbyrd McKnight for Funkadelic’s “Maggot Brain” and “Can You Get To That”; and Teddy Swims covering Radiohead’s “Airbag” — just kidding, he performed his own “Mister Know It All” and “Lose Control” in tribute to his label, Warner Records.
Janet Jackson made a rare appearance as her 1989 album ‘Rhythm Nation 1814’ was inducted, calling the album “an ongoing force that fights bigotry and promotes understanding” and saying her hope remains “that peace prevails.”
