The mats don’t lie.
They expose the work you’ve done, and the work you’ve avoided.
They’ll show your conditioning, your habits, your composure, your mindset. They’ll show who stayed disciplined when nobody was watching.
You can’t avoid it. Once you step out there, you’ll have to face the truth.
I think that's why i'm hooked. Grappling is a part of my DNA at this point 🧬

Had another good scrap this weekend. Didn’t get the W, but a lot of positives and lessons to take back to the lab.
Respect to @gsinghflow for the match. I knew he was a super active competitor with a deep bag of tricks, so I pushed hard these past few weeks and brought the best version of myself.
Shoutout to @the_path_submission_series for always putting on one of the best grappling environments around.
I felt confident, calm, and free out there. My mindset has come a long way in the past 2 years. A true testament to the work with @themindsetmike .
I felt strong from the sessions at @earneverythinggym , and my BJJ + cardio felt the best it has in years thanks to my coaches and training partners at @semper_fi_mma@_boothbjj_ (and the echo bike 🖕).
Once my knee heals up, I’m throwing myself into every leg entanglement I can to continue leveling up that part of my game up. 🦿
I'm not far off from where I want to be in this BJJ game and I show improvements every time out.
The sun will shine soon enough!
This week marks one year since I had my first of two strokes that eventually led to heart surgery. Looking back now, it’s been both the fastest and slowest year of my life.
My body and brain doesn’t work the same as it used to, and I’m still dealing with some of the mental side effects from it all. But I’m grateful to be standing here today - able to talk, able to work, able to compete and train in jiu jitsu, and able to keep making memories with my family.
I’m grateful for God, my family, and my friends who were there for me day in and day out. Most of all, I’m grateful for the chance to live a normal life again.
Celebrating this weekend with being able to compete in my second jiu jitsu match back. Let’s get it.
Check out how my lifts have changed 2 weeks out from my next BJJ match!
Trading the heavy reps for explosive and athletic movements!
Get after it!

Trying to be active in 2026 🕺🏼
thanks for the photos @the.deviled.meggs
5 months post heart surgery and i'm back to jiu jitsu competition.
Thanks to @the_path_submission_series for setting me up with a scrap on 2/21.
Been training smart and doing all right stuff to get me back on track. Let's put it all to the test!
You can watch in person or watch for free on their youtube!
Turned 34 this weekend.
33 was simultaneously the best and worst year of my life.
Life is less about what happens to you and more about how you react to it.
Let's keep kicking ass.
