Meet Eric Thaddeus Andrews (
@ericthaddeus ), our next featured crew member in our Whoâs Who on the Dirty Laundry Crewâ series!
When Writer/Director Rocky Walls asked Eric if heâd read an early draft of script to see if heâd be interested in creating some specific images for the film, Eric thought, âSo, Rocky wrote a character who is a 19-year-old artist conceptualizing a business idea with with sketches of backdrop designs and doodles and branding, all of it set in 1997. That sounds super fun. I want to do this, I want to become Kyleâs hand.â
What began as prop design, more specifically filling sketchbooks with actual drawings for the character of Kyle Miller (played by
@mitchell.wray ) turned into a full-fledged Art Director role! âWe realized there was so much more meaning and connectivity to Kyleâs sketches,â Rocky explains. âI think by becoming Kyleâs hand, Eric also tapped into the spirit and meaning of the film in a way that allowed him to affect it in so many other capacities. Art has a way of doing that - drawing us in deeper.â
Eric also served in a Script Supervisor capacity and helped a ton with continuity, set design, and even lighting!
âOn set, I focused my energy on the props, things like setting up for each scene, resetting the scenes, and keeping track of Charlieâs hat!â Eric recalls. âIt was rewarding to see these sketchbooks Iâd spent months with on the monitor screen, and to see that they help communicate parts of the story. That was the goal! Yay!â
Stay tuned to meet more of the incredibly talented crew members that poured their passion into this film!
