Had the honor of cutting and grading the first single from the new @armorforsleep record, thanks to the legendary team-up of Michael Herrick & Dylan Hryciuk.
Been wanting to work with Dylan for YEARS, so this was a dream to finally meet AND collaborate! All thanks to Michael for inviting me to come say hello!
Major props to the talented crew that threw a bunch of dirt and rocks into a barn and made it look like a believable sci-fi space-cave!

“Mike Nolan’s Long Weekend” - Free Throw ft. Dom Fox
Very pleased with how this edit and grade came out. Really fun edit that Michael just kinda let me run wild with.
This whole thing was wonderfully shot and already beautiful before I even got to touch the grade. Hats off to the crew for crushing production on this!
Song is also a banger! Very pleasant to have it stuck in my head while working.

The Boys Go NuMetal. That little splash of red in the artwork for these releases sounded like a good excuse to play with red lights in the woods. So that’s what we did.

February was the most time-off I think I’ve ever intentionally taken as an adult and it was jam-packed! Going on a ski trip and then going to Brazil the week after was an extreme temperature flip.
Bundling up as much as possible to wearing mostly shorts and swim trunks was a wild change. Happy to be able to have such wonderful people in my life to do these things with. Wild how little of it fits in a post like this.
I wanna give a huge shout out to the crew for this video; they really made this whole thing come together smoothly and unless they’re all lying to me, had fun doing it too!
Michael and Josiah agreed to be a part of this based solely on chatting about the idea, and we’d never met IRL before the shoot day. They could’ve shown up and we could’ve been complete weirdos (not sure that’s not still true), but they trusted us and they delivered tenfold what we could’ve done on our own. What a tremendous first impression they left on us!
Taylor was, strangely enough, enthusiastic about all of the technical issues we kept running into. I felt like I was apologizing non-stop for any little quirks and he said something like “Dude, stop - I love solving these kinds of problems.” And solve them, he did.
When Jordan and Joe get together, it’s a visual team that can tackle anything and make it beautiful. It’s like they’re communicating via telekinetic link sometimes, where one of them will start saying something, and the other will finish the thought, nod, and just go do it. That combined with Michael and Josiah?! Untouchable.
Eric has a big, strange, beautiful brain and I’m scared of how it works. I’ve seen him flourish in multiple roles on sets, and really love to see him come to life in Art Department. He can assemble things in such interesting ways that would’ve have even occurred to me, and always seems to have a magic touch that elevates projects he’s a part of.
And me? Well…I was there too. I point a lot and go “woo” when the band does something cool. And boy howdy, I sure can drink coffee like it’s my job!
