The Resound Gala has distinguished itself as one of the most engaging, beautiful, and entertaining events in the city. This week, we celebrate two individuals whose talents make this a night to remember: Chor Leoni’s Artistic Director, Erick Lichte, and Gala Auctioneer and Committee Member, Fred Lee. With the generous support of our Volunteer Sponsor, Carter Cadillac North Shore & Burnaby, we invite you to give these two community leaders a round of applause. Join us for another breathtaking event on May 27th. Remaining tickets for Resound are extremely limited.

💫 NEW ALBUM ALERT 💫
Our new album, This Air | This Earth, is now available on all major streaming platforms, and we can't wait for you to hear it!
“From our bodies, rooted in the earth, come sounds and singing, rarefactions and reverberations full of memories of the past and hope for our shared future. To me, this is what this album is about and what forms the connection between these two world-premiere recordings.” - Erick Lichte
✈️ This Air | This Earth begins with Canadian composer Don Macdonald’s “High Flight,” a lush, six movement work that sets the words of RCAF soldier-poet John Gillespie Magee Jr. to music. The work is a celebration of life, of soaring, of living and loving. This music connects us with a young man, his beautiful mind, his idealism and his untimely death. "High Flight" marks a death by honouring life lived to its fullest. The work was recorded at St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church, and features pianist Tina Chang and cellist Jonathan Lo.
🌎️ Recorded at Chan Shun Concert Hall at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Melissa Dunphy’s piece, “The Things We Leave Behind”, rounds out the album and invites listeners to explore humanity’s legacies buried beneath the Earth’s surface and how they might appear to future civilizations. The recording features harpist Vivian Chen and saxophonist Julia Nolan.
“The Things We Leave Behind" overtly links the past, the now, and the future with uncommon heart, humour, honesty and beauty. In this work, we not only see, but feel our connection to our past and future and hopefully, a deeper sense of our shared humanity across the millennia.

One week ago, Chor Leoni held its third annual Resound Gala. Through the amazing work of our committee, staff, and the members of the choir, we raised just over $400,000 for the choir, especially in support of our MYVoice Educational Program.
There is so much gratitude in my heart for so many people-
Our incredible co-chairs John Evans and Bruce Munro Wright who led our brilliant committee: Monique Badun, Jessie Bobinski, James Carter, Sophia Cheng, Shannon Dolphin, Joy Jennissen, Mariat Jibril, Paul Larocque, Fred Lee, Mónica Reyes, Bikki Singh, Jessica Taylor, Nessa van Bergen, Nada Vuksic.
The event was planned to perfection by the incomparable Jane Caddick Gardiner with food by Chef Dino Renaerts and the whole Bon Vivant team.
We were joined by gorgeous guest artist Jimmie Herrod who sang with beauty and grace. Huge love to all of the Chor Leoni singers who sang beautifully, volunteered their time and also internally raised $12,000 for the choir. These singers are the heart and soul of this whole organization.
Special thanks to RBC who was the evening's lead partner and to the 300 guest who made the evening magical and opened their hearts to what choral singing can bring to our community.
Huge thanks to Stash Bylicki who has made this event his baby.
Thank you all.
