If you happen to be in the Ridgefield, CT area this Saturday please join me for the opening of “In Bloom”, group show about - you guessed it - flowers! Thank you @gtownarts for including my work. See you there. Image: “Ithaca Daffodil” 2025 Acrylic on canvas 20 x 16” ©️ Eric Hibit - I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o’er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced; but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils. William Wordsworth 1802

HUGE congratulations to my dear friend and OyG colleague @leezameksin on being awarded a 2026 Guggenheim Fellowship! I’m immensely proud of you, Leeza. Your light is a blessing to me and so many others. I can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. Images: 1. “Spell”, 2024 -2025, oil, acrylic, silver, gesso, thread, paper pulp on canvas, 14 x 18” 2 - 5. Exhibition images, “Walls Wearing Worlds”, site-specific installation at @oygprojects 2025 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ “In its completed state, “Walls Wearing Worlds” is a condensation of the exuberant energy that went into its making. The elements of the installation are poised and perfectly proportioned. Fabric hangings are just big enough to feel substantial and transformative while allowing viewers to see the underlying walls, floor, and ceiling. Like a talented couturier whose instinct dictates how long the skirt must be, Leeza’s keen sense for scale relationships is evident throughout the installation. Especially in the spaces between the numerous elements of the installation, in which Leeza hangs three of her paintings. Through the inclusion of these works, she asserts her identity as a painter and declares her commitment to the medium. A close look at the surface reveals a mix of media and approaches that speak to a boundless appetite for materials. The result is a microcosm of the rampant extroversion on display in her site-specific elements. Her paintings are not dependent on the context of her installation. They succeed on their own terms.” - excerpt from “Walls Wearing Worlds” exhibition catalog Jan 18 - Mar 16, 2025 @oygprojects

I’m in Hawaii to observe flowers and leaves as research for my work. Orchids and anthuriums are not new to me. But experiencing them outdoors is: growing “wild” as a surprise along a wooded path, or backlit by the morning sun. Working hard to record observations and get all the information - and inspiration - I possibly can. Last slide: frozen birthday cake at 30,000 ft ☁️🍰☁️
