The ASC welcomes new member Eric Branco, ASC @ericbranco , a Bronx-born cinematographer shaped by New York’s art scene and early work in the lighting department during the indie-film boom. His credits include the award-winning features Clemency and The Forty-Year-Old Version, as well as the series Let the Right One In, Bupkis, and Monarch. Branco is also an ASC Spotlight Award nominee, an AC Rising Star of Cinematography, and one of Variety’s “10 Cinematographers to Watch.”

Next thing I knew, I was jet lagged and stumbling through the city at dawn, waiting for the scout van.

This turned into one of the most special experiences of my career. It’s always amazing when you get you treat a massive show like the little guerilla indie films I cut my teeth on. This one had us running through Shiniya crossing with no permits, shooting b-roll from the back of a cube truck, and grabbing wides out the windows of restaurants across the street... All to make this epic show feel a little more special.

What a weekend.
