Here are some minis that I made for my show opening Saturday at @thinkspace_art they are based on vintage “lady vases” that became my obsession this winter. I have so much more to share but today is for fabulous ladies that scream “you can’t sit with us!”
From my messy studio to outside my studio to @thinkspace_art “Paradise” is my largest piece in the show. It started out as a painting and then one day I decided it needed to be cut out.

This is my village cat. They are historically viewed as either bringers of good luck and divine protection (Ancient Egypt, Scotland) or omens of evil and witchcraft (Medieval Europe). While commonly associated with bad luck in modern Western superstition, they are, in fact, symbols of prosperity, magic, and protection across different cultures.
This specific piece is painted in a style called “Palekh” which is also a city in Russia where it originated. It’s based on Russian fables and folklore and I love it it’s gorgeous!!
If you look closely you can see the old neighborhood witch chasing out the old crazy guy because in my experience every village has a crazy guy that needs to be chased away by a crazy witch!

This painting Mom Killed a Goat is based off of a figurine in my friends house that i love. The meaning I took from it is that mom does what she has to do to feed her children and survive. It’s up for the rest of the week at @thinkspace_art 🩷
