A few days in Montreal to celebrate and then back home tomorrow.
I personally feel like Iāve aged 10 years over the past two years with all the life changes weāve gone through (good + bad). Life has been a little slower recently and this trip hasnāt been any different.
Late sleep ins, brunch instead of breakfast, a few naps here and there (to get our energy levels back up) and pretty early nights. Grateful to my husband for organizing this trip with zero input from me (I was tapped out after the wedding. No more planning until next year š¤Ŗ).
Thanks for all the birthday messages yesterday everyone - I am very appreciative for the ā¤ļø
Highlights from Lagos š«¶š»
This destination was perfect for us in every way imaginable. We consider ourselves slightly āoldā before our time but honestly thatās just us. We arenāt big party animals so we didnāt need to be anywhere with a lot of nightlife on offer.
Our days in Lagos were relaxed. We spent most of our time here leisurely strolling around taking in our surroundings. The locals were absolutely fabulous so we spent a lot of time in conversations with total strangers (which we loved).
The food was out of this world so we were never short of new places to try (and some repeat restaurants because they were that good).
Currently dreaming of our next trip back š
Fun fact: our tent flooring went down the morning of the wedding because the lawn was flooded and a total mud pit after the three days of solid rain we had leading up to the 24thš
@gervaisrentals was able to accommodate this emergency request and showed up with a crew at 8am to get the job done. This may have been a disaster had they not been able to come š
For entertainment we wanted a live musician that was unique. A quick Google search and I found @irishmilliefiddle who delighted us with her fiddle, guitar and voice š¤
Our backyard ceremony
It wouldnāt have been complete without our favourite people š¤

We also chose our favourite officiant @reverend_maureen to help us tie the knot and make things official (before jetting off to Ireland for a Celtic ceremony)

I had a VERY specific vision for Ericās wedding outfit which meant shopping off the rack or renting was just not an option. After doing a lot of research and meeting a few custom suiting shops we landed on @sorencustom
From our very first Zoom meeting, Mark understood what we were looking for and customized every piece of the suit to Ericās preferences. With the help of my fellow planner @ginahumildeevents (who helped us select fabrics, details and coordinate accessories) we nailed it.
Brideās usually get the bigger wardrobe budget for their wedding day but Iāve always felt groomās deserve to feel just as good in their outfit as we do! I loved that Eric had a high quality suit that actually fitted him and was made for his body.
Honestly, this was another one of those ānon negotiable itemsā for me when it came to our wedding and it was worth every penny spent!
Stay tuned for more photos of this suit in Ireland š®šŖ
