Stations has now finished its festival run. The film has screened in Melbourne ACMI and Canberra PhotoAccess. As a little celebration, I'm sharing this teaser of this project shot in Hong Kong, 2025. music by @sdkfile courtesy @extra_noir_

The screenplay is now complete, with 80+ pages of magic realism. They should give us 70-80 minutes of screen duration. We will have 20 days to shoot it, from May 18th to June 12th. Incredibly tight. That's only if we find a cast that fits this project. Casting call is out - I'll relay it soon here. Directed by @eric.perriard Produced by @sakina.thaker073

Stills from Ennui. Tons of thanks to Adam @windsortheatre.brighton for letting us shoot in the cinema at our own pace, and for helping us with that crucial shot. Tons of thanks to Colin Fricker for letting us in his lovely home for a full week!

Ennui's post production is now finished. Luckily, I have been editing for 4 months while we were shooting. That helped. Many thanks to the unbelievable crew who's never given up on my vision. The idea was to deliver a short film inspired by a 1920's genre: the City Symphony. And we did it! Ennui offers a slow contemplation of South Australian settings, punctuated by succinct moments of magical realism. The film's main character is the location: it murmurs a story. Ennui overlays imagination onto reality, without either one dominating the other. Ennui now starts its festival circuit.

It’s a wrap. After 25 days of principal photography, Ennui is now in post production. We’ve shot in residential, industrial and urban settings, including a pottery basement and a 100 year-old cinema. I’ve been editing continuously along the way, so hopefully, it shouldn’t take too long to finish from now!

We’re now half way through Ennui’s principal photography. Today was our 22nd day of shooting. We found ourselves in a magical location: a journey back in time at the Windsor cinema. We had a difficult shot on the list and it took us about half a day to pull it off. It’s in the can!

Huge thanks to @mobileinnovationnetwork for giving me the opportunity to share my experience on mobile filmmaking at ACMI. MINA embraces the unique potential of mobile filmmaking. I've enjoyed discovering new film forms, alternative to what we see elsewhere. And a big thank you to the audience for watching Stations. I've shot the film over the span of 2 weeks in Hong Kong as a solo crew. The phone has allowed me to contemplate my surroundings freely and intuitively. The first photo is credited to MINA event documentation's team.
