Bed 1 of 3 complete!
What a beautiful way to kick off spring! This week we are planting 3 new drought-tolerant, native perennial beds at @ulethbridge along with 5 new trees!
Thank you to all the people involved and the volunteers that have helped bring this vision to life! We can't wait to see all these plant babies grow big and strong and provide important food, medicine and habitat to all who visit!
We will be planting tomorrow (May 12) 9-12 and Wednesday 9-4 for anyone interested in joining in on the fun! There will also be a beautiful Tobacco Ceremony happening from 1-4 tomorrow (May 12)

We are pleased to announce three incredible work shops at this year's Seedy Saturday!
First we have @virgilgrandfield - an incredible advocate for reducing water usage in your garden. He will be demonstrating how to build an olla for your garden, as well as other ways to creatively and affordably minimize water usage in your gardens.
Second we have @naapis_garden - Api'soomaaka will be speaking on the value of living in a clean, healthy and protected environment that supports a sustainable society and balances our economy and traditional connection to the air, water, land and animals.
Last but not least we have @helenschulernaturecentre - Paige Rosner will be discussing the best way to enhance your backyard habitat for bees and butterflies! In addition she will be demonstrating the best practices on how to build pollinator hotels and bee baths!
Can't wait to see you all there! April 11 from 1-4 at the Lethbridge Public Library Main Branch!

Introducing the Greenie Awards!
The Greenies are annual awards that celebrate sustainability in Lethbridge.
The Greenies have two categories:
I. Green Deeds celebrates programs and projects that bring the green to Lethbridge. Big or small, we’re looking for community initiatives that engage residents to make Lethbridge a greener place. Long list nominations close on March 31 and the short list will be open for voting from April 10 to May 15.
Our 2026 Green Deeds theme is water conservation. We’re looking for nominations for programs and projects that help protect our water. Nominate someone today through the link in our bio.
II. Green Superheroes celebrates the people who take action to make Lethbridge green. From your neighbour who just installed their tenth rain barrel to a local advocate for bike lanes, we’re looking to recognize everyone and anyone who is walking their talk. Nominations open April 10 and close May 15.

Indoor plant swap is coming to Seedy Saturday! 🪴
Community Indoor Plant Swap Fundraiser
Calling all plant lovers! We’re partnering with local businesses to host an Indoor Plant Swap Fundraiser in support of Environment Lethbridge annual Seedy Saturday.
Date: April 11, 2026
Time: 1–4 PM
Location: Lethbridge Public Library
Hosted by: Environment Lethbridge in collaboration with The Sill & Soil and Urbane Eight
Details: Swap is Cash Only!
Bring your happy, healthy indoor plants or cuttings to swap with fellow plant enthusiasts and give your green babies a new home. It’s a fun way to refresh your collection, connect with the community, and support a great cause.
How it works:
Bring pest-free plants or cuttings to trade on April 11 at The Lethbridge Public Library, or drop them off between April 1–10 at The Sill & Soil or Urbane Eight.
With your donation, you’ll receive a token to take home one plant from the swap. Plants will also be available for purchase, with all proceeds going to Environment Lethbridge.
Swap, mingle, and share plant care tips along the way.
Let's grow together
