Creatives, the conversation continues.
Last week at Entrepreneur Works Presents, actor and producer Julius Tennon joined us for an honest conversation about the realities of building a creative career — from protecting your vision to understanding the business side of the work.
One thing was clear: creativity alone isn’t enough. Sustainable careers in the arts require strategy, support, and access to the right resources.
That’s why we’re sharing Philadelphia’s Creative & Nighttime Economy Month, a citywide series hosted by the Department of Commerce bringing together creatives, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to talk about how to start, sustain, and grow creative businesses in Philadelphia.
Throughout March, the series will explore topics like scaling a creative business, navigating the fashion and maker economy, storytelling and media, and building sustainable pathways for creative entrepreneurs.
If you joined us at EW Presents, this is a great opportunity to keep the momentum going.

Why You Should Apply for The Incentive Grant
Because growth takes capital — and too many small businesses are locked out of it.
If you’re a Philadelphia business owner generating $250,000 or less annually, you may qualify for up to $35,000 in matching funds, covering up to 50% of an approved loan.
That means real dollars to:
✔ Purchase equipment or inventory
✔ Expand your space
✔ Hire staff
✔ Stabilize cash flow
✔ Invest in your next stage of growth
The Incentive Grant is part of the Philadelphia Business Lending Network and is designed to support small businesses — especially those who haven’t had access to traditional funding options.
This isn’t just a loan. It’s leverage. It’s support. It’s an opportunity to move forward with less risk.
If capital has been the barrier, this could be the bridge.
