Week 2 of training for our Intro to Filmmaking cohort and Week 1 of our Screenwriting class!
We love seeing our students dive deeper into the filmmaking process while our writers begin developing their stories. Learning filmmaking doesn’t have to be boring, we teach industry standard training through a gamified approach. Our students engage in challenges and games that are fun but also push them to think through the filmmaking process in a real way.
Across all our classes, we love the networking, collaboration, and community that’s building.

Our first Spring Cohort for Intro to Filmmaking is officially underway at Philm Factory! This week, students dove into the development phase, bringing ideas to life from concept to story.
Through hands on challenges and creative activities, they began building the foundation for their own films. One highlight? An acting exercise that helped students step into character and better understand personas, an essential step in writing authentic, compelling scripts.
We’re already seeing creativity, collaboration, and confidence come to life in this group. This is just the beginning 👀

Yesterday was a full-circle moment 🎬
Our Take One youth film students stepped behind the scenes to film an interview with two of our Assistant Directors from the Intro to Filmmaking class for adults, diving into their new short film “Bridgewell 8”.
It’s inspiring to see both programs come together like this our youth gaining real on-set experience while supporting creatives who are actively bringing their stories to life. This is what community, collaboration, and growth in filmmaking looks like.
