ANNOUNCING OUR FIRST PROGRAM OF 2026, 'BEHIND ME IS THE DARK' At the edge of the horizon, behind me is the dark… Explore vast liminal spaces and be encompassed by what lies in between with Ensemble Apex’s daring first project of 2026, Behind Me Is The Dark. Collaborating with lighting designer @visitandre , Apex presents four bold modern works exploring time and texture through sound and light. The concert will be conducted by Apex’s Artistic Director, @sam_weller9 , and the ensemble is led by long-time collaborator, @annadasilvachen . CALLING ALL EMERGING CONDUCTORS ‼️ We’re pleased to announce Ensemble Apex’s first-ever conducting masterclass, as part of the @tasmaniansymphonyorchestra Australian Conducting Academy… On Thursday April 2 from 3:30PM, Artistic Director Sam Weller will work with four emerging conductors focusing on the technical and interpretational challenges of Ligeti’s masterwork, Kammerkonzert - the closing work of our upcoming ‘Behind Me Is The Dark’ shows. The participating conductors are @aijadraguns , @neill_wang , William Darbar and @naomihnat . This masterclass is open to all those interested in conducting!
