@vsco ‘s January In Focus editorial, their monthly spotlight highlighting impactful images and emerging themes from the community.
In March 2024, I found myself at
@rvxstudio while they were still under construction. I had the chance to witness the studio being built from the ground up and to observe
@gandfcustoms process firsthand. At the time, I was in my final year studying photography, and with dreams of opening my own studio one day, I felt deeply inspired by Giovanni and Francesco’s craftsmanship in carpentry. Watching their process and understanding what it truly takes to create a studio was eye-opening. Seeing them design and build a digital tech cart with a monitor, while carefully planning what gear they needed, was especially interesting.
Thank you to my friend Tommy for introducing me to the space. On my first visit, the cyclorama wall had just been completed, the floors were freshly ground, and a new layer of epoxy had just been poured.
This January, I had the opportunity to revisit the studio for a small behind-the-scenes collaboration. Being able to see the space fully coming together was really special. Watching their hard work pay off, and seeing friends who were there from the beginning now using the studio and its equipment, is something I felt compelled to capture.
